Craig spotted this pair for sale.
“Tony has 2 1955 Willys Overland pickup trucks #1 is a very solid, including the frame even the rear fender braces are all in place and solid (see pics) this is a barn find, just got it out of the barn last week, now the bad some one put in a older Ford v-8,from the 50’s I think, have not tried to turn it over or start it,the good is the other truck in the back ground has a good ” super hurricane 6″six that will start and run lets call that the #2 truck. Both trucks serial # start with 55, truck #1 is 55268 — 11221 #2 starts with 55,they are going as a pair for $5800″
Jon spotted this one. I believe those are D-rims? I learned they are worth a good amount.
“Project willys for sale. Owned for over a year and haven’t spent as much time on it as I’d hoped
“Ran when parked” Obviously it will sell better so I’m working on getting it fired back up. Drove good around the lot at work. There’s quite a bit of rust on the tub, and I couldn’t swallow the $5000+ pill to get a new tub. I did however buy a CJ5 tub to use the floor, so that goes with. Comes with 5 of the aluminum rims and tires pictured, none of the tires are very good but they all hold air.”
Seller put “$3” as the sale price.
“For sale 1965 CJ 6 classic not many around would make a nice toy for desert season need some work to get her going like gas tank. carb stirring box gasket not much for a classic body is in good shape for more information text Johnny or email thanks”
Seller listed the price at $2,200,000. Seems a stretch. No description provided.
Still needs some work completed, but looks like a solid foundation.
“1954 Willys M38A1, purchased this with plans to finish, plans have unfortunately have changed. It’s an original body, amateur restoration. Have pictures of when it was being restored. It’s definitely come a long ways!
It still needs to be finished, mechanically it may need a starter, battery, an obvious carb clean. It has been converted to a 12v system with electronic fuel pump. Tires are good, minimal surface rust. Could be finished as it sits and used for what it is, or if desired stripped and brought back to original.”
UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $3500.
Craig found this truck. It’s complete, but doesn’t run.
“1948 Willys pickup 2t two wheel drive. All original condition. All complete. Currently does not run. Engine free. Good title.”
The pic shows what it looked liked prior to disassembly. Seller listed this a 1953 CJ, but the body suggests it is an M-38.
“This is a 1953 cj3a. I started to rebuild the entire thing and then had other stuff come up. It is in pieces right now but it has everything you need to put it back together. It has had a V8 conversion. I have a title for it. I can even deliver it if you are close. Has disc brakes all around. Text or call me with questions.”
Could be a good price on both. Nice vintage Shakey’s Pizza sticker on the back of the 2A’s driver’s seat.
“Ok, so these things are beat up and rough and DON’T CURRENTLY RUN ! they were both “running when parked” but I don’t know much about them besides that, and I bought them out of a barn in this condition. Might have bad engines? might have good engines? I really have no clue !
Blue one: 1947? CJ2A , no windshield or passenger seat, rolls, steers and stops. Has a newer F head 4 cylinder engine (hence the box on the hood) NO TITLE $450
White one: 1965 CJ5 , no windshield or passenger seat, rolls, steers and stops. Has a F head 4 cylinder engine, comes with DMV paperwork signed by last registered owner to obtain title. $450
Or buy both for $800 !
I am NOT into the typical craigslist B.S. games like “send me 20 more pictures” or “will you hold it for a week until I get my welfare check” or “want to trade for a crappy dirt bike” or ” take two-hunnerd?” or “still got them?” or “what’s the lowest you’ll go?” etc.etc.etc. Don’t expect much! they are not $5000 Jeeps for $450, they are $450 Jeeps !!!!!!!!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2900.
It’s a project. Looks like floors have been patched with diamond plate.
“1947 Jeep Cj2a. Fun little project. Rebuilt Flat 4. 12 volt conversion. Saginaw Sterring box with beefy brace. Electric Fuel pump. Runs good. Needs steering column, tires and seats. One side of windshield glass is broken. Fun jeep, in process of doing body work. Body is pretty good shape. No Title. Will need to get a title from the DMV. Looking to buy or trade for a VW Bus.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
Doesn’t run.
“This is my 1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep. It has been previously been stored in a barn for the past 25+ years and I are looking to sell. Everything is original except for the tires and rims, which makes this truly a barn find. There are not many more like this one. Original 4 cylinder motor, 4 wheel drive, 3 speed manual transmission. It is currently not running, and the motor is seized up. Although, I have not done any work to it. This Jeep will make for an awesome project or a great restoration vehicle. ”
UPDATE **SOLD** Was $2500.
(07/07/2016) If as solid as advertised this could be a good project. It runs and has a flathead Ford V8.
“Helping my grandpa sell his car it’s a 1949 jeep 4×4 with a flat head v8 ford Motor same era car runs and stops need interior work and paint the body is straight no dents no major caner/rust clean car just needs some love”
UPDATE:**SOLD** Was $16,000.

ABOUT JEEP: 1951 Jeep Willys M38 Tactical Truck 1/4 Ton. The Willys M38 United States Army Jeep, also known as the Willys MC, replaced the World War II Willys MB and Ford GPW models. It was a 1/4 ton 4 × 4 utility truck manufactured between 1949 and 1952 with a total production of more than 60,000 units. The M38 was military version of the then-current civilian Jeep CJ-3A. The M38 differed from the CJ-3A in numerous ways, including a reinforced frame and suspension, waterproof 24-volt electrical system, sealed vent system for the engine, transmission, transfer case, fuel system and brake system. Some M38 jeeps were assigned to the Korean theater of operations, but the majority of vehicles used in that conflict were rebuilt WWII vintage. Approximately 2,300 M38 Jeeps were manufactured by Ford of Canada for Canadian Armed Forces in 1952, designated as the M38-CDN jeep. Its successor was Willys M38A1.

Here’s an August 1940 Spokane Daily Chronicle article that is a reminder the name “Jeep” was used prior to the construction of the first Bantam jeep. In this case, it was used on the Minneapolis-Moline NTX tested at Camp Ripley. That vehicle sold for $29,000 at auction.
Given the CJ-5 on the sign, it is safe to say that this isn’t earlier than 1955.
“Rare True Barn Find. Mid 1940’s Willys Jeep Dealership Sign. This Piece of Collectible History spent most of its life in an old barn in Oklahoma as a horse stall divider. 95″ Length x 46 1/2″Width. $1750.00 OBO. ”

Suffered storm damage to the hood rear fender and top from falling branches and rain about 20 yrs ago and has been in storage since. Serious restorers only. No trades”

Looks like a solid parade vehicle.
“I have a wonderful 1948 Willys 80% restored WWII style GPW clone parade jeep named “Southern Belle” with 82nd Airborne markings for auction and for sale locally (listing could end at any time).
I have redone the exterior with body handles, decals, tire carrier, gas can carrier (can included), new windshield glass and handmade windshield cover (stenciled with invasion star), bridge plate, 82nd Airborne license plate, bumperettes, Blackout light, tie down webbing, floor mats all around, manilla rope, new interior seats, 8 ball shifter, new rims and military tires, new hood, body work, and paint. There are still a few dents and scratches here and there to give it some character but is a real head turner. I get great feedback from people everywhere I go in it.
