Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. All original still, some patch work has been done on outside body, floor is good, tires are old but hold air, and if you know these jeeps, you know you could probably use the tires for the life of it if used for deer lease or off road only. I thought the rims were unusual. I can’t remember running across these on any jeeps for sale.

“Willys Jeep 1948 CJ2A – $13,900.00. Will accept cashier’s bank check only. This is not a restoration. It was completely reconditioned, August 2000. I retained as many original parts as possible. The engine was completely cleaned and professionally overhauled. The tub was replaced with a new one. I kept the original frame, running gear, wheels, grille, bumper, windshield frame, fenders, seat frames, tailgate, spare tire mount, dash panel and gauges, steering wheel and column and all original I.D. tags.
New: clutch assembly, most seals and bushings, brake shoes, brake lines, master and wheel cylinders, wiring harness, radiator, seats, top, tires and tubes, exhaust system and starter. ”

Tub has been replaced. Tub is steel fenders are fiberglass. Has bikini top. No doors. All lights and gauges work. Has wiper blades and motors but not hooked up at the moment. No rust at all.
