“1979 jeep DJ5G postal jeep.
Runs good, new factory rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt tranny, newer heavy duty battery.
$45. Service manual included.
This would be a great project for someone who likes to rebuild old vehicles. It runs now, just renew a few accessories and you have a great unusual vehicle!
Some minor rust on body.
This is 37 years old. It was built to drive city streets delivering mail, so top speed is about 45-50.
It drives great on flat; hills, not so much. It can do them, but very slowly, and it doesn’t like them! It has some play in the steering wheel, and due to sitting, the brakes aren’t up to par, but my mechanic says that is normal for sitting so long without being driven, and they should do fine after driving a bit.
Odometer and speedometer don’t work: it’s a cable issue.
Estimate @ 34K.
Has the tray installed right now. I could remove if you prefer.
One seat, not original (much more comfy!)I found the original passenger seat, included
New radio/CD player
These photos are a bit old, but vehicle looks the same, a bit of fading on paint, but otherwise, it is EXACTLY as represented and written description.
Terms are cash only. No Shipping, you must pick it up.”
1959 FC-170 Great Bend, KS **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Dan forwarded this FC on eBay.
“Here is a one of a kind ’59 FC170. First of all, I do sell some vehicles on Ebay, almost always old farm trucks, as I live here in the middle of Kansas. I enjoy dealing with the farmers I buy them from, love getting them running again, and also enjoy meeting the people who buy them and seeing where they go. I’ve rescued a lot of old farm trucks. But this one is definitely different. First of all, I’m a little bit of a jeep nut. I have 2 49 jeeps, a 76 Cj7, and numerous AMC vehicles as well. I have never, however, owed a forward control jeep. I was offered the chance to purchase this one, and immediately snapped it up.
The only reason I am offering this for sale, is that I’m more of an original vehicle type of guy, and although this truck has had a ton of money spent on the be and winch, I would prefer one with the original bed. Without exception, until now, I always list my vehicles with a starting price of $10.00 and no reserve. I’ve noticed that there is an ebay law of averages. Sometimes they sell a little high, or a little low, but usually sell for about market valve. This one is a little different, as it’s pretty hard to value, so, I decided if it sells for $4500, o.k. if not, o.k. I’ll put it in my collection.

This old jeep is awesome fun to cruise around in. Head turner for sure. ”
1961 Wagon Homer, AK $1500
If it starts up, this could be a great price, even with a little rust.
“This is a classic! Willys 4WD Jeep Station Wagon with a lifetime total of 75k original miles on it. It has a second engine in it, a completely rebuilt original 6 cylinder “super Hurricane” which is powerful enough to make 70 mph on the high way with the use of a low miles overdrive unit I found and installed in it. The car is a pleasure to drive and a real conversation piece. Sale also comes with a spare, zero miles, rebuilt 6cyl engine of unknown condition. Transmission was gone over by a transmission shop in last 20k miles and runs great. Suspension, steering, drivelines, rear and front drives and body all in acceptable condition. It runs but has been stored under cover for four years since I fired it up last. 4WD works fine. Has some body rust.
This could also be a good candidate for a full restoration. Cherry it out and you could drive it for many years in style!
I’m getting old and need the cash.”
1962 CJ-5 Battle Ground, WA $2200
Could be worth a look.
“1962 Willys Jeep It was running and driving great. I then took it to play in some mud, then the carb started flooding. Clean title in hand. will take trades but i dont want any more projects. I really need some sort of truck or SUV needs to be a V8.”

1946 CJ-2A McPherson, KS $800
There’s some value here.
“I have decided to sell my 1946 Willys Jeep CJ2A. It comes with lots of extra parts, just look at the last picture. The only rust is on the driver side floorboard, which is pictured as well. The tires are in decent condition and still have a lot tread. It currently has different rims on the front and rear, so it could use a new set of wheels. It does not have a title.
If you have any questions feel free to call, text, or email me. If I don’t answer, just leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”

Wed Sept. 28th: Cajun Jeeps and Mint Juleps
As I mentioned in an earlier post late Monday evening, Mike Ragsdale emailed me about a friend of his, Calvin Ishmael, who died this past June. Calvin had amassed an extensive collection of jeeps and parts. He’d been afflicted all his life with the dreaded Willys sickness, the poor guy. With his passing, his family was organizing and then selling what he’d been gathering for more that a half century (fifty-one years by Calvin’s own count). Mike thought that, since we were so close to Baton Rouge, we might want to come down and see Calvin’s place before it was sold.
Ann and her mother were excited for an adventure into Louisiana, so on Tuesday we left around noon and drove late into the evening. On Wednesday morning we met with Mike and feasted on a Cajun speciality, the Beignet, a sweet fried pastry tossed in powered sugar.
Inside a café that had been around quite a few years, Mike explained that he’d been an avid reader of eWillys for sometime and had bought several jeeps off the site. At some point Mike needed some parts. Hearing that Calvin was a local with parts, Mike contacted him. One thing led to another and a close friendship blossomed. Mike explained that Calvin came from a large family, but no one else had the passion for jeeps that Calvin did, so with his death they were hoping to sell some of his jeeps and his extensive parts collection.
With our Beignets consumed, Mike explained that he’d lead the way to Calvin’s warehouse near Baton Rouge where we’d meet Calvin’s youngest brother Mark, the man who would lead our tour.
When we arrived, it wasn’t difficult to spot which warehouse was Calvins; rusty jeeps marked the spot.
A Sneak Peak
UPDATE: It is 5:30am. Our plan to see the Bureau of Printin and Engraving later today has been tossed. Rosemary fell ill and is doing a little tossing of her own. We are now a mobile hospital. Never a dull moment!
It’s 2:30am Thursday morning as I write this and we are just about back to the Grapevine area of Texas. We had a great time on Wednesday and I will tell you all about it later today (I’m waiting for a little more bit of information before I can complete the post). Until then, here’s a sneak peak at one part of a passionate jeep lover’s collection: his “bone yards”. There are mostly M-38s and M-38A1s, but also some CJs and one part’s jeep CJ-V35U.
