“1946 Willy’s jeep cj2a
Starts, runs, drives, stops
Yellow with black racing stripes
Way too much to list. Just give me a call.
NO TITLE. BILL OF SALE.
There is a very easy, legit, and fully legal way to obtain title for this jeep. If you’re interested, I’ll gladly tell you how.
A brief rundown about this jeep:
It sat in a while in a field at the original owner’s property. I don’t know exactly how long. I was told it was in a shed.
It was VERY not running when I got it.
There was very clearly some work work/maintenance done to it however..
What I have done over the past 2 years:
I was going to make this into a plow vehicle, but have decided to stick with my atv.

UPDATE: Still Available.
(05/30/2023) Little known about this 2A, but it seems to have potential. I don’t see any obvious rust.

“Listing for family. 1947 CJ2A needs a new home. Very little is known about it. Looks to be mostly complete and appears that it was driven in to the shop where it currently resides. Is currently in Republic.”
Maybe someone up north can use this?

Jan was kind enough to share this rare brochure from Farmcraft, LTD, another seller of refurbished WWII jeeps. I’ve seen the Burleigh in another ad from 1949, but the text (as best as I could read) did not mention Farmcraft. A Hemmings article shared a pic of the Burleigh, and mentioned Farmcraft. I suspect Farmcraft partnered with, bought out or evolved from Burleigh.
Over the past two days I put four coats of rattle-can Kubota Orange paint on the front clip and body (inside a temporary paint booth in the shop). Normally when I paint I use the proper tools, get proper paints, etc. But, the last time I sprayed a jeep was about 14 years ago. I thought, just maybe, naively optimistically, spray can paint tech had improved….
Moreover, one of the upsides of spray can tech is that if there is damage, you can easily get a can to cover up any issues. Since this was to be a temporary paint job, I figured I’d be a guinea pig and see how it turns out.
Well, I can assure you the paint job sucks. While I really like the color, the shine is uneven, there are several runs (despite trying to achieve light coats), and still I can see a slight bit of background color behind the orange. In fact, I found it more difficult, more messy, and stickier to use the cans than paint with a spray gun. Lesson learned!
Thankfully, spectators are usually 30 feet or more away from the track, so I’m sure no one will notice (except when lined up in the rare queue).
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500. We visited James in 2011 when this jeep was his.
Looks like a good price.
“1950 CJ3 includes an extra set of tires and many extra parts. Was used in several parades a few years ago and parked. I haven’t tried to start it recently. I will also double check mileage and update listing.”
Blaine shared this nice looking CJ-5. Is that the Arena Yellow color from the 1956 color chart?

“Restored 1956 Willys jeep. this jeep is original as the day it was built. It has been in the family since new, was my grandfathers, I am retiring and need to downsize. The restoration was completed in 2008 and has about 500 miles.”
Appears worth a look.

“1954 Willy’s cj3b for sale. 134 f head four cylinder, twin stick transfer case, three speed manual tranny, tow bar and a roll bar if interested. Believe it’s fairly original except the front bumper and warn hubs. Floors are in very good shape as is inside the tool box. Been sitting a while but did get it to fire dumping gas down the carb. Needs some love but overall a good representation of a high hood Willy’s.”
This was listed at only $5000. It sold within a few hours on Facebook. The seller has four more to sell (condition unknown) and a variety of FC parts.

Originally white, this CJ-5 looks solid.
“This is a very nice 1962 Willys CJ5. Runs great, motor has been checked over and new rod and main bearings have been installed.
Steering box was rebuilt. Clutch is good, brakes are good. Body is in very good condition with just one small patch on the passenger side floor over a support channel (support channel has approx 3-4″ of rust). Interior of the tool box has some surface rust, no rust through. No frame issues.
Looks like original condition other than it was painted red over the original white, no modifications. Seats are in good condition, probably recovered in the past, no tears. New glove box insert. This would be an easy restoration or have fun with it as is.”
I’ve never heard of using Suzuki Sidekick brakes on a jeep.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
/Listed as a Meyers hardtop, this is actually a Koenig 555 Super Half Cab for the CJ-5.
“I got this Meyers half cab hard top for my ‘67 Jeep CJ5, but I am coming to the realization I will probably never get it cleaned up and on my Jeep. All glass is intact. Driver door is missing the hand crank. Would look great on a CJ6 as well. These are getting harder and harder to find for these old Jeeps. The last photo is what it would look like assembled. Located near the border of Riverton/Herriman, UT approx. 14000 South and 5200 West. Asking what I paid $500, but will consider offers.”
Seller has another parts top for sale, too.

“Just surface rust. Was on a 1950s cj5. Erie PA 16510. All glass is plexiglass. I do have another CJ5 hard top for sale ( scrap ) but has the sides & rear Glass all intact. I’ll include if purchased.”
This might be worth a look depending on what “TLC” is needed. It sound like it might not be running. It has some early Free-Lock hubs.

(03/16/2023) This 3B is partially disassembled. The seller posted an early Kelly hardtop brochure as one of the pics, but he actually has a Kelly series 23 top produced in the 1960s. The TC is likely a Dana 18 (not Dana 41) and the diffs are likely Dana 25/44 (not 18/44).

“1954 WILLYS CJ3B. ALL ORIGINAL! CLEAN TITLE! BARN FIND! This CJ3B only has 38,715 original miles? It was purchased for a ranch in Colorado and stayed in family. This CJ3B also had the option for the HARD TOP. All glass is original and intact. NO CRACKS. I began the project and cant finish. Motor runs fine and was running before I started to restore. I was going to keep it all original. F4-134 Hurricane 75 HP engine, T90 3 spd. trans, Dana 41 TC, Dana 18/44 diffs.
Grill is perfect and blasted ready for paint. Hood and fenders are blasted and can be repaired for dents, etc. Or you can buy new ones. Hood is also blasted. NEW tail gate. (06/20/2023) Seems worth a look. It includes a Sears Deluxe hardtop.

“This Willys CJ2A is in pretty solid shape with good floors, tub and frame. I haven’t found any severe rust that I’d worry about. The paint is peeling up, but the panels are quite straight and ready for a new coat. It has a soft top under the hard top, a spare tire carrier and all the glass. This little champ ran and drove when I got it, the previous owner had put an industrial l134 under the hood. It had a head gasket leak and enough water got into the crankcase that is developed a knock. I shut it off immediately, so that motor is definitely rebuildable. I put the original motor back in it, an l134 that was recently rebuilt before seizing from sitting. I got the pistons free but one of the valves is still stuck, I’ll continue trying to break it loose. No title. I’m looking to sell it for the 3k I have in it, since I don’t time for it anymore or the facilities. Ask me anything else you want to know!”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $2500.
(03/13/2023) It’s supposed to have a front/back PTO setup, but no pics of it.

“1957 narrow front axle Jeep FC150. not a common vehicle. This one has chain drive PTOs front and rear, and an intact front window! These are known for frames cracking and this one needs a few places repaired. Comes with both axles. Has 4cyl hurricane, unsure if it runs or not. Definitely a project but an interesting one. Comes with a bill of sale, but won’t be hard to get a title for it. Bring a trailer, of course!”
UPDATE II: Here’s another 1950 Salgittzer brochure from Germany, but it is only four pages. Thanks to Jan for sharing it! This makes three different 1950 brochures.
========================
July 12th UPDATE: I received both of the Salzgitter brochures I purchased out of Germany. The 1950 brochure is a version lacks several of the pages shown in the brochure at the very bottom. The 1949 brochure is a tiny (1/4 sheet-size) one-page brochure.
Tracy spotted this jeep that’s helping the restoration at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. The photos appear on the church’s Facebook page. The jeep was there through the end of last week (ending July 14th).
It appears the fronts springs have been removed. And, it looks like the front end is a Dana 25 or 27. That’s about all I can make from it.
Mike shared this video of Davin and Jeff working to revive this 1966 CJ-5 with a Meyer Cab. Made in Canada, the serial number places the production of this jeep at the end of December.
The buy-it-now price is $50 and shipping is only $15. The gold appears to be added over the original red. But, looks like a fine buy.
