Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Late 40’s Willy’s Jeep CJ2A. Not much left of the body, was used for farm work. Engine runs, not many miles on it. Flathead 4 cylinder with 3 speed. Had a plow but was removed a while ago. “For Sale 1951 Willys CJ3. Not stock or running. Bought as a project in New Mexico. Have retire coursed, do not have the extra cash to finish. Has Rambler 6 cylinder engine, stock T-90 trans, and T-18 transfer case. Have done some work, changed out the old 15″ wheels for correct 16″ jeep wheels, and Cooper Cross Country tires. Rebuilt steering column, with new steering wheel. This comes with 2 Jeep / Kaiser 4 cylinder engines, bellhousings and clutch parts. Has clean and clear MO. title, with an original Arizona title. Body is rough, but not all rusted out like most from the midwest. This is 85% complete, but the good part, parts are available, and reasonable. Motor and transmission rebuilt around 3000 miles ago. Has BEST top soft top, bikini top, CB radio, rugged ridge 10,500 lb. winch, and tow bar, full roll cage, electric wipers, spare tire, custom gas tank, drivers and passengers heaters, axillary cooling fan, high jack, jerry can and RIGHT LOCK lockers in rear differential
Foot start with key. I have the original motor for a spare, it runs but smokes pretty badly. The speedometer and temp gauge work, oil and amp gauge not functioning.
I mainly used this as my off road vehicle so it’s pretty beat up, but it will take you anywhere you could possibly want to go, the high jack has a bend in it near the top.
While I do have a tow bar It gets the jeep death wobble if you tow it with it, tow dolly or trailer would be best , I had a custom gas tank made so I would have to worry about puncturing it, I’ve never gotten around to putting a fuel sensor in it. It has the L-134 (go devil) motor and the T-90 transmission both in excellent working order.
I hate to sell but i don’t have the time to take her out and play anymore and I need the room in my garage for other projects”

In 2014, Ann ran into two women who operated a mobile wood fired pizza truck called Hoptown Pizza. The two, Carrie Wright and Lori Roy, didn’t know much about their funky little truck, so Ann explained to them that it was an FC-150 and that there was a whole network of folks who owned FCs.

Colin shared this video that demonstrates how to use a candle and a lighter to loosen lug nuts. I have never tried it.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7700.
“Original 1952 CJ3A survivor Willys Jeep. Less than 10500 original miles. 3rd owner. This jeep was purchased new by a college in Northern California and spent most of its life on campus. This jeep still is the original Normandy Blue paint from the factory. The body is still the original steel body with zero rust.
I took the body off the frame and redid everything as far as the running gear goes. The motor is rebuilt, new pistons, cam, rings bearings, clutch, valves etc. New brakes, brake lines and seals. The tires are like new in the original size 15 inch.
It has an overdrive. It has never had seatbelts installed or a roll bar. I have the original rear step bumper for it that was dealer installed in 1952.
The jeep did not come with a heater but I have an original Harrison heater that needs to be restored ; it also has an original factory 6 volt heater switch.
It comes with a Koenig hardtop in pieces that need to be restored. I have a “Tight Steer” for the steering box that is not installed. It has cutlass pwr lock hubs on it and comes with a set of “Warn” summer hubs from the 50’s.
Seats have been redone to original and it still is 6 volt and has the foot starter. All original gauges and they work.

“For sale as is, will restore for you or will build to your specs. 1946 Willys, CJ2A, S/N 29968. This is an early CJ2A and is one of the very rare first units that is equipped with the, still intact, column shift system. No restorative work has been done. The body and chassis are very solid with minimal rust. There is some body “character marks” that are repairable. Overall the body components are in good shape. The motor is seized. The transmission and transfer cases both shift. There have been some minor repairs, comparatively speaking, done to the front frame horns. The jeep is very complete with very few of the original parts missing. This is a great jeep for an accurate restoration. Brian Hainer will be restoring Vince’s CJ-3A. In this video he is beginning the restoration. Tires are removed from their rims and a stubborn steering wheel is removed.
Blaine spotted this unique CJ-2A that was retrofitted to delivery aviation fuel to planes. This sold on eBay.
