This is a great running and driving Jeep. Originally a real U.S. Military Jeep. It has custom headers with leg burner exhaust. Power steering with a cooler. Remote Oil filter and cooler. Griffin radiator. Everything runs cool and has a external cooler.

It starts right up with the optima battery. Mallory ignition and box. Has a gear reduction starter. Ford 9 inch rear end with 5.38 gears and Detroit locker. Dana 44 front end 5.38 with disc brakes and Detroit locker as well. T18 4speed with first gear being 6.5 to 1 ratio. No overdrive but can drive on the highway fine. High-steer steering. SOA lift. Dual fuel tanks. 33 X12.50 R15 on real American racing wheels. Spare tire. Brake proportioning valve.

Full roll cage. Soft top (full) and bikini top. 2 sets of soft doors. Gm tilt steering column. Custom electric windshield wipers. Ramsey 6k winch. High lift jack. Has a hitch. CB antenna whip. On board air compressor.

I’m sure I’m forgetting a few things but I’m sure you get the idea. This baby is built and ready to go. Approximately 20k on the motor. You literally drive this thing anywhere. “Hello, I have four jeeps sitting in the garage to be finished, and one of the dusty projects has to go. This is a 1947 Willys Jeep that is NOT currently running but will not take much to get it there. Clean and clear Kansas title with a matching ID plate.

Issues:
-The jeep has run and driven recently with the previous owner, but it currently is not getting spark. The engine does turn with the starter/key and cranks and cranks and cranks, just no spark. So it is either the coil or the distributor rotor/points. From what I am seeing it looks like it needs a new distributor rebuild kit (points, cap, rotor) which is about $50. If it’s a coil that is about $35. But that’s just an educated guess

-It does not have active rust, but has had rust issues in the typical locations, but nothing that can’t be fixed. The floor under the tool box is gone (I usually weld or rivet some flat steel in), the front floors have been patched, and the bed has some holes that can be welded shut. “Up for sale is what I believe to be a model year 1943 Willys MB jeep body. I took it apart about 30 years ago as it was on a GPW Ford frame. It is original and in excellent condition for a 70+ year old, mass produced combat vehicle for the government. These were never made to be like a Porsche and had dents and scratches on delivery. Please note there is a puncture hole above the airfilter mounting bracket at the transition to the cowl. It looks like a small forklift fork hit it, but I don’t know. The rear floor (cargo area) was replaced when I got it.

You’ve looked for a long time (off and on) but you just can’t quite put yourself in the right frame of mind with the right Jeep that fits your tight budget. You need to ask yourself, “Am I able to accept something that I can fix and or restore while I’m using it ?” or “Do I need to pay more for one that is all done?”. Most Flat Fender “wannabees” tend to be in the $5,000 to $12,000 range for a “Useable Driver” that doesn’t have major rust or body damage.

Here it is! It’s a “Runner Driver” that looks and acts the part. Granted, …it’s not perfect, but it really is better than most you’ve seen and it’s at a reasonable price.

The engine runs good and doesn’t smoke but the compression numbers are tired but not out of the game. Probably could use a valve adjustment, one valve taps when cold but diminishes as it warms up.”

The collection is open to the public once a year where 100% proceeds go to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Our last show in May of 2016 raised $22,000 in a single day and over 700 other hot rods showed up to enjoy the day. Not a single car has ever been sold from the collection until March 2016 when Susan decided it was time to downsize the collection and to a more manageable number and let other people enjoy the cars. We decided to sell 124 cars from the collection and have sold 77 of that already to excited locals in the Portland area and around the United States. We are keeping about 50 cars and though we won’t have our large show once a year, we are discussing having a few smaller shows throughout the summer.”
