Sylvia Porter was a financial guru of some renown in the 1960s. We think this might be an actual Gala from Las Brisas.
1957 Wagon Sharpsburg, GA $6500
Dave’s got this nice wagon for sale.
http://willysforsale.com/ads/1957-l6-226-4wd-wagon/
“Owned for 27 years. Selling, as I just don’t spend the time on it that it deserves.
Starts, runs and stops, but the engine and drivetrain are old and tired. Brakes are new all around.
Slave cylinders, Master, pads and clips. Parking brake cabling is free and works. Wheel bearings are in good shape, and all 4 recently rebuilt and repacked (left rear replaced). Needs shocks replaced. Especially the back ones. Guy that had it before me, lifted it all around about 2 inches, with “not bad” work. But that means the shock throw is “not standard”.
Wiring is all new. Put in a fuse block as well. Winch is a 12,000lb mechanical from the Power Takeoff, and works like a champ.
4wd all works, locking hubs are smooth, kingpin bearings real nice, and the front knuckle seals newly replaced and serviced with the proper lube, so it doesn’t just ooze right out. Steering gearbox centers up pretty nicely, but it too is simply “old”.

1954 CJ-3B Camden, AR $2000
There sounds like some value here if the floor replacement was well done.
“1954 CJ3B Willys Jeep Project. Clean title in my name. Sandblasted and painted, rhino lining in floor and bed. Front half of the floor was replaced including the tool box floor and hat channels. Seats are like new. Has Saginaw steering. I have the original front and rear ends, both in good shape, as well as those from a donor CJ7. I have a Dauntless 225 V6 with flywheel that came from a cj5. Started easily, ran good, no smoke , knock or strange noises. Have headers as well as expensive aftermarket motor mounts and expensive aftermarket aluminum radiator with cap and tank for automatic transmission cooling. New signal and tail lights, roll bar, new gas tank with cap, other odds and ends as well as take off parts. No transmission, but comes with a D18 twin stick transfer case. I have a disassembled Warn 8274 winch that needs rebuild kits and motor rebuild or replacement. I also have a Dana Spicer 23 rearend from a GPW.”

See the Nashville ad or call if you have any question. NO TEXT, NO TEXT and NO TEXT”
Year? DJ-3A Toccoa, GA $1500
This ex-DJ-3A convertible was changed to 4×4. It looks to be a 1958ish or later model. Still, There’s at least some value in the parts (There are some DJ-specific parts I could use — bumper, windshield, side mirror, shifting assembly). The hood looks tight, though has a few dings. The tranny cover plates look good. There are some top pieces left.
“Little willys jeep. Motor is free, think it will run. Came factor as a 2 wheel drive an collum shift. Has been converted to a 4×4 front axel an has a 4×4 transmission an transfer case to go with it.”
1964 CJ-5 Philadelphia, PA $900
Craig spotted this one. Given the snowplow, there could be some value here.
“For sale as-is as pictured not running”
1946 CJ-2A Cranbury, NJ $450
Rough for sure!
“This is a parts or if you are ambitious! 1946 cj2a, it is in rough shape but there are lots of good parts. No title.”
1948 Wagon Medford, NJ **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
“This is an original Willys with a clear NJ title. It sits on the original frame but has a mustang II front end done years ago, disc brakes, and a 440 moose with the 727 torque flight trans. The truck is all there and not rotten. It did have work done years ago and shows its age. There are rust spots in the frame and body but the truck runs and drives.
This is a real Willys not a glass car. It has an older resto but still cool. Just looking to see if there’s interest. Not giving it away don’t need to sell it.”
1947 CJ-2A Coos Bay, OR $1750

Moonshiner’s Swap Meet
It was a long, but productive day yesterday at the swapmeet. We had the opportunity to speak with a wide variety of people about eWillys and the Alaska Or Rust venture. I was pleasantly surprised at how many people (old, young, men and women) agreed that it was a cool idea. Many folks wish they had their old Willys together so they too could make the run with us. Still others had driven the highway and had lots of suggestions on places to see. It was a great way to spread the news about the trip.
Even better, four of the participants (me, Rob, Marty and Wade) had a chance to all meet at the same time. Somehow, we never got a photo of all of us though. Here’s are a few photos we did get:
1943 Photo of Ford GPA on eBay
I don’t think I’ve seen this one in a press photo.
“1943- Ford GPA amphibious jeep at the Ford Motor Company plant in Dearborn, Michigan. Photo measures approx. 7″ x 9”
Anybody Recognize This Air Pump?
Charles is wondering if anyone recognizes this air pump? There are no marks and the foot is pliable. He is hoping to get model information, the production year, or any other kind of info.
