“I ran this ad last June and received several offers. Unfortunately I was on an extended trip and was not available for showing. So I am now rerunning the ad for the next 2 weeks and will respond to all questions. I will then respond to offers in the order of amount offered.

1952 m38 —- This jeep was 90% refurbished in 1989 from the frame up new wiring harness (24 volt), brakes, etc. Motor and trans ran like a top. It has not been started since 1989. After 1989 it was stored in a rough outbuilding and obviously shows it. I have all the parts, snorkel, seat frames, etc. I’m 70 and don’t need this project. Would like to sell by the end of September and now taking offers. Please serious inquiries only.”

This June 20, 1960, Advertising and Merchandising Bulletin included a wall poster showing new styling changes in the ‘Jeep’ vehicle line. I wish I knew which poster that was.

There is also reference to an ad in the April 25th, 1960, issue of Life Magazine. But, it wasn’t a ‘Jeep’, but rather a Goodyear tire ad that includes a jeep.

Engine (F134), transmission (T90), transfer case (Dana 18)  and axles (Dana 25 front, Dana 44 rear) were all rebuilt by the previous owner. The three point hitch is the hardest to find of all the ones used by Willys. It is a Stratton lift. All the lifting devices are under the bed which keeps the bed open. PTO is operational and comes with a 90 degree belt pulley.

There is a Novi governor on the engine and it is not hooked up. Brakes were upgraded to 10″ drums by the previous owner as well. Body has dents and dings. Only rot is in the hat channel behind the spare tire. Floors are really nice. See pictures for body damage. Has venting windshield and the glass is broken. Also has most of the original soft top bows.

Comes with original side steps and some other spare parts. Also has the regular seats if the buyer does not want the 60-40 bench seat. Lift arms are reproductions copied off originals. I have the templates and new decals along with other information that goes with the lift. Under the tub is good and the frame is not rotted or broken anywhere. There are helper coil springs in the rear. This is a very solid and original jeep. I rebuilt the lift cylinder three years ago. I have a clean title in my name. The jeep originally came from Washing state. Some of the lights do not work. Tires are old and have cracks, but they work just fine.”

Was last started and run about 30 years ago and has been stored inside in a shop since now collecting dust and bird poop. Although it was a military Jeep, it was never used by the military but instead in 1944 diverted for agricultural use, where a spray rig was added as well as large headlights and a heater, otherwise it is 100% original. The original small headlights are included as are 5 original combat rims and other military parts. This is a wonderful example of a first generation military jeep worthy of a ground up restoration. Well restored military Jeeps are worth $20,000 and great fun for parades etc. This one was owned by my father and another farmer before him and has a clear title. This is a true survivor with only 4 small areas that are rusted through (driver side foot board, panel above passenger foot board, cargo floor behind seats and panel next to tailgate on driver side). It runs great and could easily be restored if desired.”

“Willys. 1946 CJ2A (agri Jeep or farm jeep) Note the extra shifter in the floor….. I purchased this Jeep from my parents estate. My dad had many Jeeps through the years and this one he thought was special because not many agri jeeps were produced. Has been in storage for last 8 yrs right where these pics were made. I did crank it a few times but I think fuel pump has gone bad since. 134cu.in. “Go Devil” engine makes 63 hp @ 2,000 rpm.

These Jeeps were hitched to plows, cultivators,mowing machines, harrows,and lime spreaders to tackle common farm tasks. Tires are dry rotted, there is a small hole in floor board on pass side [see pic] all other sheet metal seems to be in good shape. Chassis not rusted, only surface rust. Was painted best I can remember 20 yrs ago… New top bows as indicated in pics, do not have the canvas top. Tilt out windshield. Also have an extra engine, transfer case and trans, along with 2 extra heads. Not sure of the year but looks to be the same thats incld. Will assist in loading. Could get it running and drive as is or restore.”

Spicer T18 transfer case and Warner T90 3 speed transmission all original. Recently serviced. 44.09 crawl ratio as equipped.
