older photo before paint:
During my brief visit to Seattle the weather was most uncooperative. Today it was rain and hail, intermixed with sun. Two days earlier it was thunder, lightening, and downpours. So, I wasn’t as productive as I would have liked. Still, I managed to clean some more parts, order some parts, and work on the gas tank.
Not surprisingly, there seems to be no aftermarket replacement tank for the DJ-3A. I’m pretty sure a DJ-5 or rear CJ-5 tank would fit just fine, but I didn’t have one readily available and, besides, I was trying to stay with the DJ-3A tank. After some searching, I found one with all the parts, but it was a bit dented.
Today I decided to get the dents out. With nothing to lose, I started by drilling an access hole in the good side so I could pound out the worst side.
My tool of choice was a 20 pound pry bar that had a round surface at the top. So, I inserted the bar upside down into the newly drilled hold and began working out the dents. It worked surprisingly well.
I also had a small sledge and a smaller bar with a rounded end that helped remove some dents. Continue reading

“Selling my 1952 Willys M38 Flat Fender. Mostly original and has some close to or era correct parts. Matching number stamped L134 Go Devil engine. Currently has solex carb on it and I have spare Carter W-0 carburetor. 24v electrical with 2 optima yellow tops and it has a new wiring harness installed that still has a few things not connected yet. The odometer on the Jeep shows 21,550 miles. I’ve got a lot of extra parts for finishing restore to include era correct paint, stencil kit and lots of little miscellaneous parts like spare M38 rim, pintle hitch, M38 Technical Manual etc etc. The M38 drives pretty nice and I’ve been driving it to work once a week or so for the past few months. I’ve had it up to 60 MPH on the 5, but this flattie WAS NOT intended to do that.”
Seller listed this at $6, which may mean $6000.

I’ve seen worse trucks for more.
“I have a mid 50’s willys pickup truck for sale. Its a 4wd, manual transmission, Super Hurricane 6 truck. Everything is there a little rough shape. It would make a good rat rod style truck. I do not have a title but can give some information on how to get one. Just looking to get rid of it because I have too many projects and decided it would be too long before I can get to this one.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $150.
The fenders are a little odd.
“I have a set of aluminum body parts for an early jeep. Lightweight. Hood, grill, fenders”
The engine needs rebuilding. The body and interior look in good shape. May include a Warn OD.
“Hunting/fishing vehicle and towed on occasion so very few miles were ever actually accrued. Odometer reads 57,391.4. Engine was remove to be rebuilt and my dad fell ill. Was stored indoors for years but has been covered outside and the California heat is taking its toll. Body is straight, no engine and no side mirrors, front and rear bumpers match but not original, all windows good but passenger windshield has one crack (can see in photo). Has what I believe to be a Warn Overdrive installed. Told one or two panels with rust that will need replacing but also told everything is surface rust and nothing needs to be replaced. Inside is in very good condition as photos will illustrate. No cracks in seats, original wood, knobs, gages, stickers, etc. More photos and details available”
Doesn’t run. Looks like it has a rare fiberglass bobcat tear drop hood.
“Jeep has been stored in a garage for 20 years. Has a Chevy 327 v8. Rare model with OEM built in wench. 4×4 manual trans. Will need to be towed. Currently not running. Tags expired in 2016. I do have some new parts to go with it. serious offers only. Or trade for? I only except cash as payment.”
No pics provided.

“1946ish Jeep CJ-2A. No engine, otherwise complete. Lots of bondo and rust. Great for yard art, project build or just annoying the heck out of your spouse.”
Initially, I thought this was a whole jeep.
“I have a CLEAN, proper title… No frame, great tub for restoration. Comes with a hood, two windshield frames, one decent drivers fender and a rough passenger side fender. One grill. Two tailgates.”
Not sure how much value is here.
“I have an old Willys 1946 Jeep

2. He also share this link. There are a series of WWII/Present photos. You drag your cursor over the photo and it changes to the present. It includes informative captions. In one photo there’s the front end of a jeep (can you find it?) and in a second one, are some soldiers unloading an odd mini-bike (at least I am not familiar with it).

Looks solid.
“Yes, it’s a Willys! 1951 vintage with original 4 cylinder running engine, 3-speed manual, working high/low range, lights, and 2wd/4wd. (Between 1946 and 1953 only 132,000 were made.) The fuel tank has been reconditioned and certified. There is some “play” in the steering. Brakes are good. Could use a new muffler or tailpipe. Hey, it’s not show class pretty, but it works! Clear, clean title but not currently licensed. Has been a workhorse on an Idaho ranch for many years! Lots of sentimental memories! Want it to go to a “Jeep-lover” home/ranch! Odometer is not working. Price may be slightly negotiable”
