Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1943 GPW unfinished project. EVERYTHING is here to complete. Original RARE GPW engine rebuilt and on rolling chassis, original transmission and transfer gone through mounted on chassis. Original tub needing to be completed. F markings on hood, fenders, seats,frame, engine, transmission, transfer, and much more. The engine is a 1942, and frame/tub a 43. 5 original combat rims, 1 original goodyear tire and 4 new reproduction. Boxes and boxes of all parts needed to complete..including paint and ALL NEW CANVAS.”

(02/14/2016) It’s not much to look at, but it runs, has a snow plow, and has a dump bed.
“This truck needs a lot of repairs a nd some TLC. The clutch needs replacing. It has rust. It does run but needs tuning. The truck is equipped with a factory snow plow and a dump box. 6 cylinder Flat Head engine. Not sure of the year.”

“For sale is a Meyers hardtop off of a 1966 Jeep CJ5 along with hard doors. The window glass is all intact and the windows in the doors crank up and down. Top does not have back hatch/window. Very solid, only some surface rust.”

“Vintage 1954 Willys Jeep with factory Rear PTO, it is pretty much original with 4 cyl motor and standard trans, the body is pretty straight just needs some paint. It was used on a old farm for mowing with the rear PTO.. It has been sitting in the old barn for awhile but was running when parked. It will need some Tlc to get her running and will need some new tires but a very cool old Jeep for Project.”

“1944 Ford GPW Serial Number #235496. This jeep still features its original data tags which are riveted to the interior of the glove box door. Date of delivery: November, 17, 1944.
Jeep features its original tub and other body panels and parts, although rear panel and floor are modified and original window frame is set in a different hinged frame that is welded-on. The Jeep features the original T84 transmission, T18 transfer case, and the original Dana 25 front and Dana 27 Rear axle. It also includes original GPW drivers seat (modified).
Other modifications include a later rear bumper (the original rear crossmember is still underneath). The jeep has a different steering set up and has a Dodge flathead inline six engine. The Jeep runs and drives and is currently licensed. Engine could use a tune up. The jeep has just had all the fluids changed and brakes rebuilt with new rubber lines. The Jeep comes with a clear Utah title.”

I wasn’t aware that Oddfire 231’s existed, but based on what I’ve read, the 231 was a reworking of the 225 with Buick 350 V-8 parts, resulting in the 231’s large displacement. In 1977, Buick introduced the first even fire 231.

“1952 willys m38 original army jeep.
Its all original and was told was running a few years back. Motor is not locked up. I have not done anything to it or tried to get it running but shouldn’t be hard to get going. I have a clear title and some paperwork showing the model. It still has its last service number painted on the hood along with all the data plates on the dash.”
