1962? Mobile Motion Picture Unit Instruction Book

1962-just-wagon-mobile-motion-picture-unit

This booklet started out last year on ebay with a price of $279. A lack of interest caused the price to plummet until it fell into my hands. This rare mobile motion picture unit sports a Tornado engine, which places the copyright date of the instruction booklet at 1962 or 1963.

Unfortunately, attempts to research this unit further using Google result in a bunch of results related to the “First Motion Picture Unit” during World War II or the associated government archives, which while interesting, isn’t helpful to our present query.

The booklet runs about 25 pages and is mostly focused on the operation of the generator. There aren’t enough photos for me to determine whether this is a modified 4WD sedan delivery wagon or a Traveller. Most of the pics have number references; the numbers are referenced to specific parts in the back of the book.

Year? Wagon Elizabethtown, KY $4500

• CATEGORIES: Willys Wagons This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Tom shared this wagon. It appears fairly rust free for an eastern wagon. It’s listed as a 1954, but the grille suggest it may be a late 1950s wagon.

“Solid Willys wagon. Believe it is 1954. Needs restored. I have extra hood and back gate. Lots of original parts and original engine. Extra set of wheels”

1954? Siebert Willys Ambulance Utility Cars Brochure

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, Features, Industrial-Welder-Generator, Willys Wagons • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This undated Siebert Willys Ambulance brochure was probably produced in 1954-or 1955, based on the grille design on page 4. There is no form number on it. Within the brochure the company describes three different ambulance options.

  1. One was called an Ambulance Utility Wagon and is featured on the backpage. It appears to be a basic sedan delivery with added first-aid/ambulance equipment.
  2. The company also produced a Willys Custom Ambulance, which included side windows and a “deluxe interior”.
  3. The third was called the Willys Ambulance Bus (originally called the Willys Ambulance in a 1951 brochure). It was a lengthened 4-door (with the rear doors set up as suicide doors), along with other mods.

1955 Wagon Sacramento, CA **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000.

There is some floor rust and the brakes don’t work, but it does have a nice patina and a unique overhead upholstery strategy.

“1955 Willys wagon 4×4 Super Hurricane 226 90k miles. Originally purchased by the San Francisco phone company. My friend’s father bought it from them in 1960. I have his original title in an envelope dated 1961. He drove it lightly around the Bay Area until the brakes went out in 1989. Last registered in 1988. If you do the math, he was getting up in years, so it has sat since then. He died at 100, I purchased it from my friend, his son, five years ago. here’s a list of some of the things I’ve dealt with:

1963 Wagon? Stillwater, OK **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Willys Wagons • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9500.

Mike spotted this wagon on eBay. It’s got all correct nomenclature (note that the Gov plate images I have all spell ‘Traveller’ with one L). But, it doesn’t have the correct flat rear wheel wells for sideways seats. So, is it actually a Parkway Conversion?

“Up for consideration is an original, unrestored 1963 Willys Jeep Traveller. This is a very rare Jeep with production of the 4×4 version less than 1000 units, it came out of Oregon a few years ago and has remained pretty much as found. The Traveller has the original roof tire, the optional front mount Koenig pto driven winch and the optional Overhead Cam Tornado 6 motor. Starts and runs as it should with most all guages and lights operable. I have recently purchased and installed new tires to include the spare. There is structural rust in the floor and also in the roof at the drip rail area that has had some amateur repair done long ago. There are other areas of less serious rust but overall a very restorable jeep, restore or enjoy it as is. Full payment due within 7 days unless prior arrangements are made in advance. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.

Year? Wagon Healdsburg, CA $500

• CATEGORIES: Willys Wagons This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I found this wagon’s headlights modifications interesting. Just something different. There may not be much value here unless those rims are Renegade D-Slot rims. Given this appears to be 2WD, they may not be.
