Video of Ford GPs Leaving the Factory in March of 1941
UPDATE: The bottom clip seems to have been a small part of this nearly eight-minute clip of the Ford GPs being rolled off the line for the QMC. Some of this video we’ve seen and some we haven’t. This was the first batch of 400 Ford GPs, delivered March 19, 1941 (which was part of the first contract of 1500 Ford GPs).

A Kaiser-Jeep Bolide XJ-002 Video
I stumbled onto the below video of the Bolide XJ-002 after doing some searches based on the post related to the XJ-001. The video is part of a larger All-Par article (see more photos here).
Now I’m wondering if the Parmely body was based originally on this XJ-002 body design. The Parmley looks like it’s a little more practical, convertible version of the XJ-002.
Unlike the XJ-002, which was designed on a Jeepster Commando chassis, the XJ-001 was atop a CJ-5 chassis. The Parmely was also designed to fit a CJ-5 chassis, so its lines couldn’t be as long nor sleek as the XJ-002.
The video isn’t the most compelling piece of work, but it manages to record some unusual history. As of 2010, this vehicle was reportedly undergoing restoration.
David Tracy Compares a CJ-2A vs. a Roxor
I went over to Seattle on Wednesday and back to Pasco on Thursday morning. Just one post today.
This seems like a good idea … David Tracy compares a CJ-2A to a Roxor. Which won? Check it out:
Post Alaska Or Rust Item: FCA Brazil’s Video of Hugo Vidal
<– Day 21 – Saturday May 19th: Mr. Infamous (Alaska Or Rust Presentation)
UPDATE: I’m still sick so no updates. We made it back to Pasco, where we will stay a few days before heading back to Seattle to help with Dad. In the meantime, Luciano updated the video of Hugo below by adding English subtitles for the Portuguese. Enjoy!
Original post November 14, 2018: On Sunday this video debuted at the Premiere Auto Show in Brazil at the Auto Show’s Jeep Booth. It features our good friend and co-Alaska participant Hugo Vidal. It’s mostly in Portuguese, but some is in English. You’ll see both my wife and I appearing in several clips. The title refers to Hugo as the First Citizen of Jeep Nation. Kudos to Luciano Falconi for his great videography.
Hugo also recently published a book on his trip, written in both English and Portuguese. http://www.ewillys.com/…/26/hugo-vidal-has-published-his-b…/

Odd Turkish(?) Video with a Jeep
ModMike shared this odd video on Facebook that includes a CJ-2A. I finally tracked down a Youtube version. Can anyone explain it?
Video — Jeep: The Unstoppable Soldier
I didn’t get a whole lot done the last few days, as Dad is needing more assistance. No time to do updates for Thursday, but perhaps this 1 hour video from WheelsTV will fill the void. I’ve only seen the first 15 minutes, but it looks promising thus far.
I did spot at least one item that was incorrect. While discussing the first BRC at Holabird, between 15:59 and 16:20 pictures of a BRC-60 are mistakenly shown.

1943 Video “Role of the Jeep”
Some of these clips form this four-plus minute 1943 movie are familiar, but the video also offer a wide range of clips I hadn’t seen (that I can remember). There are Bantams BRC-60s, BRC-40s, Ford GPs, Slat Grill MBs, Ford GPAs, and MBs/GPWs.
Audie Murphy & The Yakima Ridge Runners
This 1954 video was a surprise find. It’s called “JEEPERS: Film Star Goes On Jeep-Man’s Holiday” and features Audie Murphy.
1942 Willys MB Rebuild Part II
The is second in the series from Sybert’s Garage. You can view Part I here.
This explanation from Episode 1’s post shares why Tom and his son are rebuilding the jeep:
“My parents have a summer cottage in Northern Wisconsin. Our neighbors, who have passed away with the daughter living there now, had an old MB jeep. It was painted violet because at the time Janet’s dad asked her what color he should paint it as a little girl.
The jeep sat in her garage for years and each time we went to visit we tried to get her started. The mice had made it their home, eating all the electrical wires. The radiator leaked, brakes and clutch did not function and we realized we never had enough time to truly spend on getting her running whenever we visited. We asked for permission to bring her back to our garage in Wisconsin, fix her up and return her to Janet.
Janet’s dad served in WWII in the Army and I know he would be proud to see Janet driving his jeep today.”
