Here is a slat grille MB converted into a truck. I found it at the U.S. Military Forum. This was as custom conversion using tin and wood.
Unusual Research Archives
Is this possibly a GP or MA Body? California City, Ca **SOLD**
UPDATE: This appears SOLD, but was listed at $800.
I could be wrong, but the slopes and cut of the passenger and driver’s sides look very similar to a Willys MA, thought maybe a Ford GP as well?. This has been hacked up a bit, but it’s worth a look. Check out what appears to be an emergency brake as well.
“Clear title has orignal old style pink slip non op for 20 years but probably off dmv record now… 4×4 ran when parked 10 years ago”
1947 CJ-2Aish Leander, TX **SOLD**

1969 Unusual CJ/Truck Windsor, Va $1200
UPDATE: This was $700 .. now $1200
(10/10/2009) It’s not street legal. To call it a “great project” might be stretching things.

Aluminum Flattie on Bronco Chassis Prescott, AZ **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8500.
Here’s an aluminum flattie body on a modified Ford Bronco chassis. As I mentioned in a post last week, the vented hoods are very rare. I’m not sure if that’s aluminum or steel.
“Unique aluminum bodied CJ2 Jeep. This is a professionally built for off road, but very streetable CJ2. It is a real eye catcher. It features a highly modified 1974 Bronco chassis with 4 wheel disc brakes, dual master cylinders, urethane bushings, power steering, trans. cooler, power steering cooler, etc. It sits on, like new, 35X10X15 Goodyears. Power is supplied by a fresh 351w ford with edelbroch manifold and newly rebulit edelbrock 4 barrel, connected to a modified c-4 trans.and headers. It is an older construction, but is done right! I prefer cash, but will consider a trade for a nice cj or wrangler or ? and cash. ”
1946 CJ-2A Remsen, NY **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
It runs! And includes the lawn chair I imagine!
“No Body, Runs, Drivable,Kaiser Super Sonic Motor,4 Cyl,”
1945? CJ-2Aish New Castle, Pa **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000.
Assuming the data plate belongs to this jeep, I’d guess this jeep to be a late ’46 at the earliest — not that it really matters given the custom mods.
“NO TITLE NOT SURE IF IT WAS BUILD BY SOMEBODY OR IT IS ORGINAL WITH THE BED.WHEN I BOUGHT IT THE OLDER GENTELMAN SAID IT IS A 1945 BUT I’M NOT SURE WHAT YEAR IT IS IT’S AROUND THAT YEAR FOR SURE. HAS A FLATHEAD 4. HAS 3 SPEED TRANS IT RUNS AND DRIVES IT JUST DON’T HAVE BRAKES.HAS LOW AND HIGH RANGE 4 WEEL DRIVE ALL WORKS DO HAVE WINDSHEILD TO GO WITH IT.”
1943 Ford Burma Truck Denver, Co eBay
Greg spotted this old Burma up for auction in Denver. There’s something about the placement of the headlights that makes me think these vehicles appear hunched over in some way, ready to bear their load.
“1943 Ford Burma Jeep. Unrestored as shown. Stored at least 10 years, either driveline or engine, or both siezed or locked up from non-use, so expect motor and driveline restoration is also needed. Does not run or drive. Rust on stake bed areas, as shown.
“US Navy” marked on the engine cover data plate, Also visible is “149958” which is the title VIN number, and other number appears to be “90148”, but not guaranteed. Other data plates are nearly illegible, sorry.
Sold with title, SALVAGE Colorado Title. Vehicle was used off road on a mountain property for many years, and was not driven the last several years. It was easier to replace a long lost title as a salvage vehicle, otherwise the vehicle would have had to be brought into running/driving condition and submitted for inspections, etc. So for now the vehicle is not intended for registered highway use in Colorado, until the new owner brings it into running/driving condition, meets any other guidelines necessary, and applies for previously salvage title. Please check with your local authorities if you intend to restore and/or make road worthy for public roads, or if any inspections or other procedures would be required.”
Prunedale, Ca $600
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600.
This is how NOT to stretch the front of the jeep to accomodate a longer frame ….
Paul Spots the Ultimate Radio Flyer
Just a couple updates tonight. The kids have me sufficiently worn out, so I’ll wait until tomorrow to add some listings.
Paul sent this awesome pic of the most unique radio flyer I have ever seen. Paul reports from Alaska, “Sunday, August first, I went to an outdoor car show even though the weather forecast predicted heavy rainfall. Naturally, with the low lying gray clouds and the expected rain the turnout was less than in years past but with the summer season drawing to a close there were still quite a few interesting cars, trucks and motorcycles but what caught my eye wasn’t any one of these. I’ve attached a picture of this impressive ehicle, just looking at the picture causes me to grin and when I watched it being driven down the road to the show I about fell over I was laughing so hard.”
1958 IKA Jeep JA-3UB Godoy Cruz, Mendoza, Argentina eBay
The shipping on this from Argentina would be a killer — However, I can’t say I’ve ever seen these for sale in the US. You can learn more about the JA-3UB here (though the translation is rough).
Here is an example of a IKA Jeep with an unusual soft top.
Year? CJ-2A? Dubios, WY **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was Make Offer.
This is very cool, though the seller is a bit off on their history. I’d like some better pics.

1946? CJ-2A Millsboro, De **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
(06/29/2010) The serial number of 130476 suggests this is a 1947 rather than a 1946.

1943 GPA Sint Jacobiparochie, Netherlands eBay
Gerben asked me to let readers know he was selling his GPA. He’s managed to take some unique pics, so there are some good views. I especially like the way he’s managed to lift the back and front (using a crane?).
“Ford GPA Amphibious jeep. This is a NOS (yes, new old stock) hull that was never used. I know for sure because I have drilled all of the holes for the springbrackets myself when we put the frame in for the first time. We inspected the wheelwells very carefully and sanded of the paint to see if there were holes welded. It was all flat sheetmetal and the only holes present were the ones for the shockabsorber pins and the breaklines
Some repairs are done due to sitting outside for perhaps years. The toprail on the left and rear part and some small parts of sheetmetal have been replaced. This was not done by me, one of the previous owners did that a few years ago. After that is was shotblasted and painted again.
The axels are rebuilt with new bearings, seals and brake parts. 4 new Firestone tires on original split rims. The frame and all of the other parts are used and from other GPA’s
All of the hard to get special GPA parts are there such as surfshield, bilge pump with 3 way valve, 12 volt generator, PTO for the propellor and pump, capstan winch with PTO and bracket on the engine, 6 blade fan with shroud and GPA radiator.
The engine is original GPA but has a crack above the distributor and needs repair. I will include a Ford GPW engine that runs good. The gearbox, transfercase and PTO are rebuilt and ready to be mounted.
The dash, front and rear deck, floors, frontseats are in great condition and only need minor repairs. Bottom of the rear seat needs to be replaced. The original fuel tank is in bad condition. A new handmade exact copy reproduction tank will go with the vehicle.
I think about 10% of the needed parts are missing. There is no title with the vehicle. A bill of sale only. The GPA is located in the Netherlands in Europe and can be viewed by appointment. I will sell worldwide and help on this end, but it’s up to the buyer to arrange and pay shipping.”

1950 CJV-35U Raymond, Me $5100
This is very much a project. Despite what the seller says, I’m less certain that grille is stock. It looks like a MB grille to me. The body, along with the V35U specific data plate, appear to be correct. Here are some pics I was using from the G503as a comparison.
“I am selling a VERY RARE military jeep. Here is an article on them: http://www.cj-3a.com/CJ-V35U.htm
It is a 1950 Willys CJ-V35-U. They made only 1000 of these jeeps for the USMC in 1950. It is factory built using a mixture of MB, And CJ3A parts, and is very very rare. The one that i am selling is in VERY restore-able condition, and mostly complete, and un-molested. It has been stored indoors for several years. This jeep retains a lot of the original, hard to find parts, like: Ram horn tow hooks, Starter, generator, voltage regulator, front seats, pintle hook, Fuel tank, front bumper, bumperetts, tail gate, lower spare tire carrier half, air cleaner, cross over tube, fording exhaust with shroud, head light switch, Transmission locking chain, all gauges (minus temp), two correct windshield frames. NOS voltage regulator, NOS fording tail pipe bracket.
It comes with the following reproduction parts: Upper spare tire carrier, Lift rings, and antenna mount. This is a NUMBERS MATCHING JEEP, the engine is the correct serial number for this jeep!! the engine number is V-10125, and the chassi is believed to be chassi number V-10115. They started production @ number V-10101, so this was #115 of 1000 to be built. It has the correct hood, fenders, grill, body. There is a little controversy over the nose of this jeep, but there are things i can point out that are factory and that no one would have been able to change. It is very early production in a very limited production run. Asking $5100.00, Sorry no trades”
1967 DKW Munga Troy, MI **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2995.
“Selling a 1967 DKW MUNGA jeep. These jeeps were manufactured by DKW, 1 of the 4 rings of the Auto Union. this car was imported from Europe a few years ago, it has a 1000cc 3 cylinder 2 stroke motor and is 4 wheel drive. the engine was running but was low in power ( and you need all you can out of the 1000cc engine to move the beast!). My mechanic tested it and the seals need to be replaced, i ordered the parts from Europe and they will be included. many in Europe were fitted with Ford V4 engines, Renault 12 engines or Opel 4 cylinder engine for more power. You will surely be the only one on the block with a Munga. Also delivery can be made by plane, they were equipped with a parachuting hook! just in case! selling for $2995, that is less than the shipping and importing fees from Europe, must make room. Thank you for looking, contact me for more photos or info. Happy motoring. John”
1959 Custom Truck Graham, Wa **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $22,000.
Here’s a beautiful truck. Check the dual door setup. Very nice.
“One of a kind four door truck, multiple show winner, 351 windsor, automatic, 4 wheel disc brakes, mustang II front suspension, ford 9″ rear. Lost sight and cant drive anymore. Tom”
Usual Car/Jeep Custom Project
I ran across this today at the Jeep Forum. Posted last year, someone was trying to identify it. This is the closest thing I have seen to a Wally Cohn Jeep.
Willys Sporting Tracks
Doug suggested I do a search at Youtube on “Willys Jeep Tracks”. I found two interesting videos.
In this video, a CJ-2A is fitted with tracks, one track on each side.
In this video, a jeep wrangler is fitted with tracks on each wheel
Porcellana Maua Jeep Tea Cups Phoenixville, Pa eBay
Thanks to Dave (Hog) for pointing out this unusual item — Jeep Tea cups. First off, the price on these seems nuts –$9999 — seriously? Maybe I just don’t know the market for tea cups. Also, the seller claims these are WWII tea cups, but, based on the jeep, those are Korean War Cups at the earliest.
“World War II Porcellana Maua Jeep Tea Cups and Saucers. Owned by United States Rear Admiral Raymond Schneider who was stationed in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Mint condition.”
