Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. eBay has been a bit frustrating lately as there has been a dearth of interesting vintage jeep items to purchase (especially interesting brochures). However, I did spot this Authenticast jeep for sale. The front bumper is broken (which seems the norm), but I do have the broken piece, so I will try to put it back together. Importantly, the straps, fringe and spare tire are all there (these are the three things most often missing).

I tried to win this unusual Ringling Brothers circus jeep (here are a couple real-life examples of a Ringling circus jeep and Charlton Heston in one here), but I was out bid (it went for $31.99 and I bid $31). This has some nice details on it as you can see in the pics.
Thanks to Joe in Mesa for spotting this truck at an antique store for only $50. Usually these are pretty high priced (none on bay right now), so I was happy he found this in reasonable condition. It lacks the tow package and headlights, but I’ll take it none-the-less.
John’s mother purchased this plastic M-38A1 toy for him in the 1960s for $.79. He was surprised to learn that it was still being made and sold, though the price is now $17.90:

You can also buy it on a certain online store. I won’t mention them…they have enough money.
As I recall, I eventually got the gun out and painted it white. It’s just a coincidence that 30 years later I bought a very nice restored stock CJ-5, it was also white.
Anyway, I’ll probably pick one up and give it to the shop that is restoring my A1. If I can find a flexible blue paint, I may even paint one in USAF blue like mine.

“Up for sale is a wonderful old vintage 1950’s era Garton Pedal Jeep. This was restored about 2 years ago and is in very nice shape. This is the Army version. Garton also made an Air Force version. Pedal Jeep is in great working order. It measures approx. 40 in. long x 16 1/2 in. wide x 15 in. tall. (not including the windshield frame). Overall, just a super cool and very rare Pedal Jeep”

UPDATE: After Joe’s comment I examined what I believe was the dash. It was then I noticed that inside the “engine bay” was printed “Hotul”. Here’s the best pic I could get of that. My assumption is that at least part of this jeep was made from recycled material.
This well-loved toy jeep popped up on eBay. The lettering refers to a French/African oil refining company? I thought it was unique enough that I put a low bid in and one it. Anyone know more about this toy? It’s about 4″ long, so it’s not a large toy.
This Tom and Jerry Comic Car sold recently for $290! It included the original box. It looks in pristine shape. Thanks to Blaine for spotting it.

“Luzon Red 1948 VJ Jeepster. Willy’s dealerships would have these on display in the showrooms. Because the level of detail is so perfect, only 150 are known to have been made.
They were made by a company called Al-Toy in the ’40s, right after WWII. The Jeepster Touring Car is considered the last American touring car, and so it has a following all on its own as a collectible.
This particular toy in this condition is hard to come by. Most have broken or missing parts (front bumper, steering wheel, vent window frames, missing hubcaps). This toy is in great shape with no broken or missing pieces. Hand painted Jeepster decals on the fenders and the painted dash gauges.The hand painted white wall tires finish out the incredible detail that went into this toy.
Jeep measures about 15” long 5” wide and 5 ½” high at the windshield. It weighs a whopping 6 lbs. All four rubber tires move freely.
Also included are 3 dealership service pins (10, 15, and 20 years of service). Ships to the lower 48 states only.”
