Tom shared this nice looking combo of pedal jeep and matching trailer. I can’t remember seeing a trailer that matched a pedal jeep.

“Purchased in Branson, MO. came from a museum. Excellent ’50’s pedal car Jeep with matching trailer. Looks like the originals from WW2 or Korean Wars. Perfect for the military collector.”
The buy-it-now price is $50 and shipping is only $15. The gold appears to be added over the original red. But, looks like a fine buy.

“This is a oglesby jeep selling as is do not know any thing about them cast aluminum”
I won this Al-toy on eBay recanted for only $39. It has a slightly broken bumper on the passenger side, but otherwise seems in good shape.
Roger Martin spotted this jeep-themed go kart.

“4hp engine. Runs great. Has golf cart subframe the Jeep bodY is of wood. Only thing wrong with it is the chain pops off once in a while. Other then that you can ride it today.”
A big thanks to Joe-in-Mesa, and wife Jan-in-Mesa, who found a couple toys and brochures at a great price while visiting the MVPA convention in Des Moines, Iowa, last week.
The Marx tin windup cowboy jeep has details that I haven’t seen on similar cowboy jeeps. I thought it was the best of the two, even though the windup spring doesn’t quite work.
The four-passenger Marx Jumpin’ Jeep in green and yellow is more familiar, with graphics in good shape as well.
I had neither of the two brochures they found, so that was a bonus (see the posts below)!
Here are more pics of both toys:
These toys are being sold by Carl, but I “think” someone is helping him sell them. It could be an in home care person. They are all “make offer”. You can contact the seller at 765 418 5751. He will ship for $12.00 (he says that if the shipping value is over that, he will pay the extra).
UPDATE: I’ve added a pic of my toy collection at the bottom per John’s request. As for the next updates, our hectic spring property schedule and some 16 hours days seem to have taken a toll on me, so I’m needing to rest (Apparently, 57yo is not the new 40yo). Fortunately, we’ve gotten a ton done and I made additional progress on the racer. The flooring and firewall all have paint. Now, on to the seat frames (once I feel better).
(April 27) … I still have a couple days of work (irrigation systems and garden stuff) before regular updates resume. In the meantime, I’ve got the race jeep floors and firewall painted and ready to assemble. The “dash” gauge plate (actually hooked to the horizontal rollbar) is being constructed in free moments. Once the seat brackets and seat belt anchors, and the top anchors drilled, I’ll be ready to clean and paint the chassis (rattle can paint as the chassis has some rubberized paint that is a bitch to get off. Then, the final assembly can begin.
In the meantime, thanks to Andy spotting the ad, I was able to pick up these 9 plastic jeeps (only one was slightly broken) and one metal one for only $10! I ended up paying the woman more, because she went through the trouble of shipping them. She was grateful for the extra dollars, but it only seemed right. She is keeping a watch out for more jeeps for me.
Note the Oglesby jeep is there for size reference.
John asked about my jeep-toy collection. Here are many (sorry the pic isn’t better). The “jeep room/study) still needs to be setup (we were going to redo this room in the shop, but I am trying to get the real-jeeps all running first:
Somehow I hadn’t seen this combo of a jeep and space shuttle, with transport setup, from Buddy L. I found it for a good price on eBay. Ann will like the space shuttle.
UPDATE: Barney nots that this may be the original paint color. That makes me happier!
This was the first chance I had at getting an Al-Toy truck, so I snagged it off ebay in the last few seconds. It seems pretty original, other than the phone number on the side. The truck has a great weight and is slightly longer than the jeeps.
Here it is pictured with my 2 CJ-2A Al-Toys:
Roger Martin shared this WWII wood jeep for sale. The lettering is in good shape and the bottom still has the manufacturer’s sticker. But, it’s currently priced at $150.

“Vintage 1960 Structo ride on fire chief Willys model Jeep. This is a large and heavy steel ride on toy that measures approximately 25 3/4″ long, 10″ wide and is 1 ft tall. It is missing the siren and has minor expected play wear. Looks great and all other features work. Wheels roll smooth, large storing compartment in rear, steering is smooth and it displays very”
Roger Martin shared this French jeep with a Gevarm mark on its underside. I haven’t seen another one of these. Given the box shows the jeep 1) in olive drab, 2) with a trailer, and 3) with armaments, I am wondering if this jeep should have those extras and be painted olive drab?

Thanks to Tom for spotting this. Asking price is $150, but it lacks a steering wheel and is a little rough. This is the tow-seat version. It has a casting number of 8.

“Very rare antique 1946 metal toy Willys CJ 2A Jeep. All wheels move freely when rolled and have no cracks, color is light tan, hood opens, windshield folds down, IS missing the steering wheel. Have found the exact same one on a antique toy website for $275 (pics 7-10). My asking price is very fair, so please no lowball offers. Reasonable offers considered.”
This imperfect Marx toy seems a good price. Thanks to Tom for sharing. I haven’t seen a steering “box” on a Marx; I suspect it has been added.

John let me know that there is another Hobby Lobby toy jeep. Made of metal, it is 10.5″ long, about 4″ wide and long, which is a pretty good size, and currently half price at $12.99. The grille is a little different, probably to avoid trademark issues. It is reminiscent of the Italian Campagnola: http://www.ewillys.com/tag/campagnola/

Andy shared this wood jeep and trailer he spotted on eBay. I liked the folk-art aspect and the size of it, so bought it. I’m sure it is a one-off creation of someones. Unfortunately, there are no markings.
Roger Martin spotted this custom pull toy, though the build was also planning to add a cooler to it. Maybe someone else has a vision for it?

UPDATE: Thanks to readers for the additional info. The tires are original and it is a Marx Fix-All, a jeep that included the tools shown.
I won this green CJ-2A toy jeep on eBay a couple weeks ago. Other than the tires, which are marked “Marx”, there is no identifying brand. However, it isn’t clear to me that the tires are original (especially given that a couple different nuts hold the tires to the jeep).
The jeep has lots of details. On the underside, there are body mounts, a PTO, a crossmember, a transfercase brake and other identifiable objects. The engine seems about the right size. The windshield looks CJ-2Aish. It’s got a relatively accurate grille and front weight. The spare tire location is fairly accurate.
Curiously, the dash has a glove box and there are six spark plug wires on the otherwise L-head-looking engine. The fact that the toy is “stamped” JEEP in ways that remind me of a CJ-2 is also puzzling.
The plastic quality isn’t the best, which means it does have some broken parts. In addition, the soft top is missing it’s roof. So, not a perfect specimen. Can anyone identify this toy’s manufacturer?
