UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $140.
I’m not sure which model this is.
“Jeep pedal car for kids
Made of steel with knobbed tires. Smooth turning adjustable pedals do easy steering.”
UPDATE: Harry Warholak’s father built a Sidewalk Jeep from the plans in Popular Mechanics when he was a kid in Detroit. Ten years ago he restored it. It spent a year at the Chrysler Museum. Now he’s interested in selling it. You can contact him at 586-996-4103 if interested. He’s located in Georgia.
PREVIOUS POST (February 2013): This kids jeep design was published in the January, 1948, issue of Popular Mechanics and available for free at Google. It is powered by an electronic motor. It looks as difficult to build than a standard jeep! The notes added to this particular issue are interesting, too. The top note appears to reference a 1949 Christmas Handbook that might also include these drawings.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $700.
Here’s a mini-jeep body.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
Seller notes they paid $1800(?) for bodywork and paint for this Hamilton!!
“COMPLETE RESTORED AIR FORCE RARE JEEP PEDAL CAR. COMES IN NEW CONDITION. COST 1800.00 JUST FOR PAINT AND BODY WORK. MOVING MUST SELL.”
Looks in great shape.
“DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a vintage Tyco Slot Car Track Set — Jeep CJ Snake-Track. The Tyco article number is 86617. The contents are in their original box. This set is from Italy. An incredible, rare find in this condition. The approximate measurements of the box are: 26.25 inches (L) x 17.5 inches (W) x 2.5 inches (H).
CONDITION: The vintage set is “new” and almost completely sealed. The original cellophane seal of this box is torn on one side of the box. Therefore, the set is now “open,” and I cannot call it “new” under eBay’s guidelines. However, the contents have never been played or tempered with, or removed from their slots. The back of the box has a small piece of tape to prevent the cellophane wrapping from ripping further. The box shows minimal ware, with no tears or creases. Overall, an incredible find in this condition.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $325.

“A very nice restored military Jeep pedal car in excellent condition that is late 1950s to late 1960s production by Hamilton. Less than going selling price range of $500 plus, the first $325 cash takes it home.”
UPDATE: This was on eBay. Looks like the ad was pulled.
This looks in reasonably good shape.
“This is a vintage 1950s pink jeep pedal car reminiscent of the Elvis jeep in Blue Hawaii. My guess is that this piece is rare. It is 41 inches long and 29 inches tall. There is some minor surface rust in a few places and some minor wear to the paint. The top needs to be cleaned and there are a couple either splits or little holes at the corners but not bad at all. It’s really an amazing piece. I would rather not ship but you can make arrangements to ship it or pick it up, whatever you prefer.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $150.
I believe the hand crank siren on the hood is missing (see example here).
“This is a 26″ long Ride-on toy by Structo. It’s missing the little ‘shells’ that go in those racks up front, and perhaps a spare tire on the hood (?).
This version did not have a windshield.
This is excellent condition.Tires have no wear has not been cleaned is just the way I found it.
Asking $150 obo will meet in Harrisonville for pickup or you come to Rich Hill”
This is selling out of Denmark. I’m just not sure what it is.

Yeah, I would have loved this as a kid. Seth forwarded it.
“Here is a great vintage action set by Remco. This is called Mighty Mike Action Set “776”. The kit includes all pieces and includes the motorized Mighty Mike “jeep” vehicle. There is also the camper top and the top used for the tow truck. This toy is in great vintage condition. The box is in good condition with one tear on one side of the lid and the top of the box is a little pushed in. This is a great vintage toy!”
UPDATE: **SOLD**? Was $450.
It’s not in bad condition, but hardly ‘mint’.
“1930’s jeep usa pedal car. Mint shape”
I found both an ad for the Smokey and Tonka Jeep and an actual Jeep and Smokey.
1. Ad for Smokey and Jeep (If the museum has this ad, I didn’t see it).

2. Jeep with Smokey (seems a bit much given the wear?)
No pics provided.

UPDATE: Was on eBay. SOLD for $191.50.
” VERY WELL CARED FOR Vintage Structo Toys Fire Dept. No 26 Pumper Ride On Jeep Truck WITH RARE CRANK SIREN INTACT. This truck is about 25 1/2″ long and about 12 1/2″ tall.
There is some wear to the paint from age and some rusty areas on the wheels and body of the truck. The steering wheel turns easily and the wheels turn with it in same direction. Having the siren intact is VERY RARE (See other similar trucks, all sold without the siren!). The siren does crank and rattles, but may need cleaning after 50 years of storage! The truck says Fire Dept. No 26 on the top of the hood of the jeep and on the rear it says PUMPER. On the sides of the truck are painted on pictures of firemen hats; a fire extinguisher; and a shovel and axe.
It has been in our family since purchase in the ertly 1960’s. This truck is in used but very good original condition.”
I’ve seen plenty of Marx Jeeps, but finding one with an original box is rare.
“Vintage MARX WILLYS JEEP Pressed Steel Toy Car + Box *EX* (USA) Neat and hard to find 11″ pressed steel Willys Jeep in original box. This toy would rate as the cleanest one I have ever seen except for the front grill area where I’m guessing the paint reacted and flaked off. Other than the grill issue this toy is bright and shiny as day one with a crisp and clean box to match. Good luck. NO RESERVE!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $350.
Looks in good shape.

The winding mechanism doesn’t work, but still a neat piece.
