No Updates Tuesday Night Either …
UPDATE: We made it to Seattle, but the day was long and I’m exhausted. So, I will post in the morning (yes, I really will!).
I had planned to do updates tonight, but my kids arrived today, so the video games are trumping jeeps for the evening.
We are heading to Seattle in the morning to spend the week up there. However, I decided to plan a stop in Baker City and, finally, check out the “Paint Your Wagon” exhibit at the Oregon Trail Regional Museum. As a LONG time fan of the movie (Dad was a fan and, for better or worse, passed on the legacy) I have always wanted to stop there, but wanted to bring the kids along. And, yes, I can sing every song on the sound track, most by memory. That’s what happens when you get trapped on road trips in your parents’ motor home as a kid for hours at a time with only a few eight track tapes in the motorhome — you hear the same ones over and over and over.
Updates Tonight
As you can probably guess, I didn’t quite get to updates this morning .. soooooo, I shall do them tonight. However, I’m sure you’ll feel better knowing that most of my garage is now packed and cleaned!
No Updates Tonight
I’ll post some tomorrow morning …

Updates tomorrow morning
Updates monday morning, probably right after dad calls from the hospital at 6:30am to tell mom and I that he is awake. lol … yeah, he’s back to his ol’ self.
Wasn’t that fun?
I’m happy to report dad has some kind of blood infection that a couple antibiotic doses seem to have solved. It’s amazing how big a difference that made, turning him from a near zombie into his normal self. So, another crisis averted. Onto the next one.
Ask and ye shall receive (another crisis that is) . . . for as I rejoiced over dad’s sudden turnaround this afternoon, I checked ewillys on my phone in the hospital room only to discover my webhost has once again suspended my account (3rd time in a year) for a database spike.
So, if you wandered over to the site and found the subtle “ACCOUNT SUSPENDED NOTICE”, that’s why it was there for about 5 hours today. And when they suspend it, they suspend it all. Everything gets turned off, including my email and my access to fix any problems.
The support folks at my webhost have convinced themselves that I understand some of the esoteric details of mysql programming, despite my emails to the contrary. Over the past few hours, emails have been exchanged in which I indicated that I could neither replicate the problem nor understand exactly what the problem was. Their response is ‘you have 24 hours to fix the problem’.
I’ve concluded it is kind of like working with the Idaho DMV (see post below if you don’t understand that reference) . . .
UPDATES will start about 9:00ish pm PST.
BTW, if you wander by the site this weekend and it is down again, it’s because I’m moving the site to a new webhost.
No Updates Tonight
Dad’s back in the hospital, so I’m driving back up to Seattle this evening.
1951? CJ-3B Penrose, Co **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
It’s rough. It’s also later CJ-3B, as it has the large speedometer.
“My dad has a 1951 CJ3B. Its a work in progress. It has a ’79 Buick V6 motor. Military PTO winch on the front, shaft driven. There are 7 16” tractor tired on ford pickup wheels that goes with it. Its a good project that some one can finish. We didnt have the time or money to finish it.
No Updates Tonight (Sunday)
I had a long battle repairing my parents tractor/mower today. I won, but not by much. It was one of those days where I made 3 different trips down to home depot for a mower belt, receiving the wrong one twice. In addition, four different bolts broke, too rusted to turn, forcing me to drill them out, which in turn forced me to improvise a new mounting solution for a blade assembly. If i wanted to do all that work, I’d by another jeep!!
No updates tonight
I didn’t see too many jeeps, so I’ll skip tonight and post on Friday.
No Updates Tonight

Server having problems tonight
About 10:30pm my time my server company began having problems. This has not only affected my site, but other sites hosted by the company (including their own website).
Hopefully, they will get this resolved soon … I was able to complete a variety of updates though …
Year? CJ-2A Beaumont, CA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $200.
There’s $200 of value here. The rims look unusual.
“Willy’s jeep was an off road project that I never started. You haul.”
1951 CJ-3A Stephenville, TX **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
The seller believes this was the original body, but it looks more like a repo body to me. Also, there’s been a good deal of welding along the passenger front frame rail and along the underside of the driver’s side rail, which could indicate the original rails weren’t in good condition. Also note the modified transmission undercarriage.

Boom … out went my lights.
Ooops. I guess I was tired last night! After a few updates to ewillys, i went out for some Pho Noodle Soup, came back to my motel room (I’m in Salt Lake for a couple days) and planned to do more updates. Instead, I closed my eyes for just a minute and … boom … I was out. So, I’ll sneak in some more this morning.

Update from the Bantam Festival — Aug 12-14, 2011
I received an update from the Bantam Festival folks. Click on the banner to read about the updates. I still haven’t made the decision whether I”m going or not. If I go, I’d like to spend another week or two in the NY area doing some family research, but that means I’ll be gone a month, so have to figure out the logistics to make that happen.
Updates will be late tonight
I made my way, through snow, sleet, and plenty of rain, to Seattle this evening. So, if I get a chance to do updates, they’ll be pretty late.
Mini Jeeps
These mini jeeps do a pretty good job of climbing. Check out this video:
