“You are looking at a 1942 Ford GPW military jeep. Restoration was started over 10 years ago and never completed. Motor, trans, transfer case, and axles have been rebuilt. The body is an aftermarket piece and sits on a very nice straight and rust free frame. Have most parts to complete (some not pictured) and will be included with the sale.”
UPDATE: Was listed at $7500. Status Unknown.
This may be worth a look. Tranny was stuck in 3rd gear.
“1942 Willies Jeep. This is actually my dad’s jeep and he asked me to sell it. This jeep has sat in the barn for years. It would be great for a collector. The last time I drove it, it only had 3rd gear. This Jeep was displayed at the Tillamook Air Museam.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.
(06/28/2012) It’s got some unusual updates.
“This Willys MB originally came off the assembly line in July of 1944! After all these years, it has been restored and back on the road — and off the road as well. The rear end body panels, roll bar and bumpers are all custom. As is the dash, including several new instrument gauges and the front seats. A 90hp 1971 Ford SOHC engine that is in very good running condition powers the T-90 transmission that has been very recently overhauled.
Whether your Sunday driving on country roads, cruising the beach or exploring the backcountry with the four-wheel drive, this restored classic is a blast to drive.
Other notes:
It is a 1944 Willys Jeep, the original was a military model MB. It has been rebuilt with some parts from a 1946 Willys.
The original flathead 4 motor was 60 hp, to the ’71 Ford motor packs more punch.
The 4WD is fully functional – the lever to the extreme left is the shifter, of the two small levers, the left engages/disengages the front wheels – I left it in the 2WD position and the right operates 4WD Hi, Neutral and 4WD Low – I left it in the Hi position.
The transmission overhaul was less than 100 miles ago.
Shocks have a few hundred miles on them (same time as last oil change).
The tires are older and off of my other Jeep – I do have one of the original rims that I will include if desired.
I also have a speedo cable.
The parking brake will work (new shoes) but it needs a lever installed first.
During the last restoration, I put in a larger, poly gas tank that is properly vented. It is a marine grade poly and the sending unit doesn’t play nice with the fuel gauge on the speedo … it just needs a marine grade gauge with the same resistance.”
Based on the hood scoop, I’m gonna guess this has at least a couple mods.
“1942 Jeep Willys. Does not run. Has original engine, transmission, and other stuff. I could not get the tarp off for a better pic, sorry.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1100.
The bumper on this made me laugh. But, as I looked closer, I realized this was a MB Frame.
“1946 WILLYS JEEP
4CLYINDER FLATHEAD
BODY / FENDERS / HOOD
GOOD PROJECT JEEP”
Jim spotted this jeep. Looks like it was original from California, given those vintage black plates.

This runs and drives. The square-edged gas tank suggests this might be an early ’42.

I just can’t imagine someone thought the mods to this were a good idea. However, there appears to be some parts value at the very least. It looks to have all three data plates.
“SOLID BODY NEEDS MOTOR. NO GLASS, GREAT JEEP FOR A RERSTORE. PLEASE SAVE THIS JEEP. MAY HAVE TITLE NOT SURE AT THIS TIME. ”
Alex spotted an article about eMBs. The Electric MB is supposed to be made to order and cost 755.000 PhP, which is about $18,500. I did not see the electric jeep listed at MD Juan’s website, though I didn’t do an exhaustive search.
According to this excerpt from the article, “the [electric] Willy’s MB which will be powered by a 4-kilowatt, 48-volt electric motor deriving energy from eight units 6-volt batteries. Its manufacturer – MD Juan Enterprises – calls it the eMB.
The new model of the vintage MacArthur jeep, the latest product of MD Juan Enterprises and PhUV, Inc., made it debut last week at the Philippine Die and Mould Association exhibit at the World Trade Center. The body of the electric MB was made using locally-made dies and moulds and manufactured in MD Juan’s stamping plant.”
Here’s the official press release from MD Juan.
UPDATE: Price was $1200. **SOLD**
The rear axle isn’t mb/gpw and it has no engine or title.. There might be some value here though.
