“1942 WWII Military Willys MB Jeep. Mostly original and has been stored inside for many years. It runs, drives, brakes, and most everything works on it. I just drove it on the road last weekend. It has most of the original parts still with it (from what I can tell). Engine, driveline, and chassis are all original also. Converted to 12 volt and all lights work. Straight sheet metal and very little rust. Also comes with a couple of fabric doors and 2 Danbury Mint die-cast models. Clean title. $12,500 OBO.”
Needs work.

“Willy’s mb with a wide variety of cj parts that make it one of a kind. Current issues are coolent, spark and brakes. This is a project vehicle that needs work in order to run. The owner before me welded the spider gears in the rear axle which makes it un roadworthy until they are replaced. Has a Jeep dauntless odd fire v6 paired with an original Willy’s 3 speed. Has best top seats, bikini top and full soft cab. Superwinch locking hubs in the front.”
It’s a project. It appears to have a Ford frame, but it has MB tool box lids.

“1943 Ford GPW. Needs a new starter, oil pump, oil filter and radiator. Other than that runs great. I have 4 Denman tires and a winch that goes with it. Send me an offer!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
It’s a combination of MB and CJ-2A and other parts, but it is a budget friendier flat fender option.
“4 Sale By Owner 1948 Willys CJ2A
-Engine: Dauntless V6 -VIN/Serial#: 211056 -12 Volt -Manual Transmission -4 Wheel Drive -Electric In Line Fuel Pump -Windshield Is Complete But Glass Is Cracked -Black Out Lights (New) -Mechanical Fuel Pump Is Included -Tailgate Mount Jerry Can -All 3 Seat Frames -Very Nice Body – No Rust -Frame Is Good – Beefed Up At Some Point -Key Switch/Key (New) -All Gauges Replaced (New) -76 Years Old
Equipped With The Dauntless V6 Engine Made By Buick. Not The Original Engine But Was A Popular Replacement With More Power. I Purchased This Jeep As Is From The Previous Owner Who Stated It Runs Great But Needs Brakes. I Haven’t Tested Any Components But The Engine Does Roll Over By Hand. There Is Not A Title But They Are Simple To Obtain If Wanted For Road Use. You Don’t See Them In This Good Of Shape Often. This Unit Is Worth Substantially More Completed.”
This is an estate sale. Looks like it was well-loved.

“This is titled as a 1944 Willy’s Jeep that presents well as a WW2 era Jeep and runs and drives as it should. The body is a reproduction and there are reproduction and later Willys era parts but it is still a very correct looking, rust free example and is in amazing condition and ready to enjoy. It has had a very long term elderly owner, kept in temperature controlled storage and being sold to settle an estate. Also included are WW2 accessories including helmets, a 2 way radio, gas mask and more. This Jeep is about as nice as you will find. More photos are available upon request. $18,500 buys it. If listed, the Jeep is still available. Located in Waukesha, Wisconsin.”
Blaine shared this auction. It’s hit $24,000 with 16 hours to go as of this Thursday night post.

“This 1944 Willys MB is finished in drab green with white military-style accents over green canvas upholstery and is powered by a 134ci inline-four paired with a three-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 16″ body-color wheels, a folding windshield, a jerry can, manually locking front hubs, and a radio receiver and transmitter unit linked with a body-mounted antenna. The truck reportedly underwent a refurbishment under previous ownership, and the seller acquired it in 2021. This Willys MB is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.”
The body has been patched on both sides.

“44 Jeep. Former military m38 but more similar to a cj2a. Runs and drives. Lots of work done to it. Newer “F-head” engine previously only in cj3b and cj5 (i fit it in without a hood scoop with a low profile carb and air cleaner). T90 rebuild and swap, Dana 18 rebuild, new brakes all the way around, new carb, new body mounts, new radiator, new batter, new fuel pump, tank relocated to back (as opposed to factory under drivers seat), new clutch, new plugs, wires, distributor, new wiring harness, lights, twin stick t case, gauges, u joints, new windshield (windshield frame is a cj3a frame) and new paint……. Cons: the paint is textured “monstaliner” bedliner like paint (not UV sensitive). Looks pretty good but was used to hide the less than perfect dents and dings under the paint. Underneath looks better than most Jeeps these years. And it needs a top. I also wouldn’t recommend it for someone over 6’ (I’m 6’3” which is the main reason I’m selling it.)”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(01/17/2024) It’s a project. I didn’t realize the hood tilted forward (see 2nd pic).

“PROJECT Engine runs. 305 sbc Transmission out of vehicle Has T90 and Dana 20 transfer case. Both need rebuilt Also have th350 with np205 and/or np203. Decent condition. Have extra cj5 frame and axles that go with it. Not going to split it up or part it out. $2500”
John spotted this MB with unusual ‘skins’ across the grille and fenders. Given it has been parked since the 1980s, unclear what value is here. I believe it needs floor pans (my interpretation of “4 pains”). Only one pic provided.

“Old World War 2 Jeep that my friend’s family used on their farm was running when they parked it in the 80s does have crack in engine block. Needs 4 pains.
UPDATE: Price dropped to $21,000.
(01/14/2024) Thanks to Mike for sharing this Fresno-area modified flat fender. It’s got the stylish doors, the muller top, and many other updates. Note the care taken to build the front drive shaft around the automatic transmission.

“I have a custom 1943 Willy’s for sale. She is powered by a Chevy v8 350 with a t350 automatic transmission and a split transfer case. Chevy rear end with 3.73’s. Custom removable vinyl windows and roof to make it a fully convertible vehicle. Steering box was pushed forward to accommodate the power steering, custom made drivelines to GM front and rear end. Everything from suspension to interior and paint has been customized and done right. Everything on this rig works as it should. She is a 4×4 Hotrod that gets tons of looks and compliments!”
This is a post-war Esslinsen rebuilt MB. It’s in rough shape and doesn’t appear to run.

“1943 Willys jeep. Rebuilt in Germany in 1952 at an American base rebuild yard, Esslinsen Ordinace Depot, as stated on data plate on the glove box. A true overseas War veteran. Has a California title. $9,000”
The seller notes this is likely an MB, even though it is registered as a GPW. The engine is out of it.

“1945 or so Willy’s military jeep. Registered as a Ford GPW but my research says Jeep/Willys. Original flat head block has crack in #4 cylinder hole. I found good block and crank but have lost interest in job. I was driving Jeep until cylinder lost compression last year. Brakes just rebuilt. New tires. Original transmission and running gear. Pretty much all original with some rust and bondo. I have current registration. Selling as is and must towed (has tow bar). If interested email me and we can negotiate.”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(09/30/2023) Check out the hub on the driver’s side of the first pic. I can’t figure out what that is? Or maybe it is an optical illusion that my brain can’t figure out.

“1957 willys jeep needs some tlc but does have title”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(11/21/2023) It runs, but the transmission isn’t functioning correctly.

“I’m guessing 1942 Jeep, that’s what I was told by the folks that know in Arizona. The title says 1951, If that is an issue for you please do not contact me and complain, I don’t want to hear it. The engine runs, see video, I replaced the entire wheel brake system. Something is broken in the transmission. Front and rear differentials will most likely need to be overhauled. It has four brand new wheels and tires. Brand new windshield glass. It also has an over drive transmission. The price is firm If you have $5,000 in United currency and want to buy this jeep contact me. I have a clean Arizona title. If you want this Jeep, Bring cash. I’ll answer reasonable questions. I’m not interested in your estimate of the Jeeps worth. Obviously it’s worth less to you because you don’t own it.”
UPDATE: Still Available.

“350ci Chevy engine, Warn overdrive, new tires, tilt wheel, warn hubs, and more. Fun to drive”
Listed as a 1941, it’s unclear how much WWII is here. The chassis looks to be 2A or later. Has some creative updates.

“This is an old original Army willy’s completely restored to brand new with led headlights, nice music system and new diesel engine. Very rare to find and won’t last very long.”

“1944 Military Jeep. Runs and drives good. New carburetor, new radiator, new fuel pump, new brakes, new battery, transmission/transfer case rebuild. Has the “hurricane” motor from a cj3b, which is basically the same as the original “go devil” with a different head and 30 more hp. It’s wired up for easy flat tow (unhook the battery, hood the 4 plug) to use stock taillights. ”
This has a military body and chassis (the rear bumper mount is visible), along with a few CJ parts. Unclear how much value is here.

“Willies jeep WW2 era Inline 4 cylinder Manual trans Complete Great resto or rock crawler build 4×4 All vehicles “ran when parked” This is a part of a large estate sale so Information is limited on each item All come with either original title affidavit in Lue or JVA”
UPDATE: **SOLD**
“Registered as a 1946 Willy VIN# on pink slip and registration:GPW52643.
The title is registered to the motor which is a GPW block with a Willy’s mb head.
Clean title & current registration in my name
Toe board gusset serial number:9869
Data plate serial number:113589
DOD 1-20-42
All three original data plates intact, but missing Frame tag
Gpw motor
Correct axels
Original transmission
Body has bondo but overall in good shape for early production slat grille.
Runs and drives
New break lines
New master cylinder
Carburetor rebuilt with nos rebuild kit
12v system
Overall this Willy’s is a perfect candidate for someone who loves WW2 jeeps. Will make a great restoration project for someone. Body does hold some bondo but to be expected with the original body. Floor plans are solid. Frame looks good. Very little rust on the undercarriage, minus the usual gussets.
Very rare only 25,000 of them produced.
Looks solid.

“Hi I’m selling my 1942 Willy’s jeep. -Runs, drives, stops. -clean title, current registration through end of year. – original flathead 4cyl. motor – original 3 speed manual transmission – all lights work – new seats – was converted from 6v to 12v at some point – I have a full soft enclosure for it that’s in rough shape, can go with it if desired – Grill has been swapped out for a cj3 grill I believe – home-made bumpers, has a little bit of body work done in the back so rear lights are integrated into bumper. – aftermarket relocated fuel tank. Awesome rig! Could be made great with a little more love. Right now it’s a super cool running and driving project.”
