Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. TJ spotted what looks like a pretty good price. Looks like it may have had a DJ-3A, M-38 or CJ-3A engine.
“1944 Willys MB WW2 jeep project No title, No transmission Yes it is a project . there is rust , I striped it to bare metal then put a quick coat of green paint , so what you see is there , no hidden bondo over spots.. has all original axels & running gear , no trans or transfer case. motor is a newer CJ flat head . extra parts included.”

“For parts only it has a mb body the frame is I think a cj5 not Shure of the year but it is one that came with the Buick odd fire… fenders, hood, grill, rollbar, towbar and other pictured parts. The body has some rust damage lower driver side and is rough but fixable. It’s on my trailer I could deliver within 100 mi for gas money.”
Looks like a nice build. It’s being sold by a dealer. It includes a Warn OD and a Bobcat hood.

“Sierra Classics Imports is proud to present this exceptionally mean 1942 Willys. The off-road machine is finished in a nice red paint with chrome diamond plating covering much of the car. The 283 cubic inch motor came from a 1961 Corvette and sounds loud and mean with the power to back it up. The 283 is linked up with a 4 speed manual transmission with Worn overdrive. The car has 11 inch drum brakes all the way around stopping 10×15 inch wheels and 33 inch tires. The Willys also has tilt steering as well as a full top a new radiator and a new water pump. This is an excellent Willys and would be a hard charging fun toy for anyone who wants to go off road with some oomf. Give us a call if you have any questions!”

Seems worth a look. Note that it looks like part of a CJ-5 has been melded onto the driver’s side and rear of the jeep. The original body may have been an MB or GPW.
