Seller calls this a “Ford”, it might be a Ford-built Canadian M-38A1CDN. The grille is probably from a CJ-5.

“Willy’s M170 was used during Korean War as a front line ambulance, the military predecessor to the civilian CJ6. The condition is very restorable or could be used as parts. It has a Nevada title and would probably be best to have a new home in Nevada. The stock running gear is all there with the addition of an overdrive. Comes with boxes of parts. I got it off of an estate and the heirs knew none of the particulars of the vehicle. Was stored in a garage. I do not know if it runs. Previous owner was converting to 12 volt. Comes with some parts to convert back to original 24 volt. Price is OBO.”
Looks in good shape.

“1953 M38 Willys Military Jeep with 30 caliber replica machine gun and radios. Overall good condition and a head turner! The paint job is probably an 8. The radios worked the last time I tried them however they are designed for 24v system and the Willys was converted to 12v and need more juice to operate fully. There are a few small rusted areas (floor board, battery compartment) and I can get additional photos if you have serious interest. The windshield does not have wipers. The siren is not currently working. I’m not sure if its a wiring, motor issue or just needs some tlc. It is very loud however when it works. I put a new carburetor on it and have the original. If it sits for a short time I usually have to put a little fuel in the carb to start it. It runs well and has been used in parades, festivals and ice cream runs in town but just don’t use it that much anymore since I moved”
UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was priced at $11,500.

“M38A1 military Jeep for sale is not running but was when parked. The Jeep is 24volt and mostly original.
Has very little to none rot or rust. Has the two front and one rear seat and windshield and all the gauges.
Engine is the F head 4 cylinder, T-90 manual trans and all the running gear is stock.
Needs to be gone through and is an excellent restoration candidate. The M38A1 is the same as a CJ-5 but with a heavy duty frame that has the front section boxed. Priced to sell for either parts or restoration.
Can be flat towed or on a dolly.”
Could be a good price for the right person.

“I’m posting this post for a friend. His father passed away and left him with a life long collection of old Army Jeeps and everything Jeep parts. He also collected a few other old cars, wheels, tires, “real original baby moon hubcaps” as well as many, many other wheel covers for all kinds of old cars. Come walk through 6 acres of parts, cars, Jeeps, Jeep parts , ect. He also has more parts in Montgomery in Pops old garage and under the homes he owned. Call Mike at [hidden information] or Howard at 235-4979.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2800.
Here’s another M-38A1 with the extended rear. It looks to be a ’52 or early 1953.
“I really hate to part with this project, but I just have too many. This is an original military type jeep but what makes it even more rare is that it was extended in the back like a scrambler for some special purpose. (not a cj6 because they were extended between the wheels and this one is extended in the back. As you can see it it has the military dash board, windsheild, front grill, cut out for battery box and heavy duty suspension and steering components. It looks like someone modified it at some point with a Buick Dauntless V6 225 and it ran when i parked it here.
It needs a new floor and i have another tub with a great floor that i was going to cut out and put in this one but never got around to it. This would be such a great head turner project with just some big tires and a great military type paint job or like with any jeep, whatever you can emagine. Call me to take a look at it. I garantee you will not find another one like this! Almost forgot. I have a half cab top for this thing so it could look like a pickup if you like.”

“I am moving & selling my Willys M38A1 projects. There are 2 titles & enough parts to build 2 rigs & extra parts left over. 3 frames, extra axles, transmissions, transfer cases, fuel tanks, 3 windshields, seats, 2 roll bars, etc. One of the Willys is in the middle of being rebuilt & will roll around. It has tires on it & has been lifted & the frame has been boxed & it is set up with an adapter to put a small block Chevy in it. The body has been media blasted, but was never primered & has been stored outside for the past few years so it has surface rust on it. The other one is completely disassembled. Only selling because of the move. Call or text. Thanks.”
This does not have a title or the rifle.
