This jeep is listed as a 1951 M-38, but the body is a replacement body (one with an MB-dash, M-38 indents, and no battery box). The grill may be a 2A grille. The frame may be a 2A frame. If you look at the last photo you can see the 2A tranny cross member hanger.
“Selling a true 1951 Military Jeep Willys. M38 Jeep runs and drives good. Motor runs slick as a button. Body is 95% rust free. No dents. New battery, plugs and wires, points. This Jeep is very rare and hard to find in this shape.”

“52 Willys cj3a. Bought for a toy and mostly everything worked, clutch started going out so I decided to pull the motor and tranny, and planned to restore/beef up. However unexpected expenses are forcing me to sell.. motor is a 60s buick 3.8L v6 odd fire. 300v8 pistons, light cam, offenhouser intake manifold, Carter 400cfm carb, flow master dual exhaust. Ran fine when I pulled it, just smoked a little on start up, was just gonna go through it and do a little cleanup and replace gaskets, but runs strong as is. Saginaw 4speed. 4wd works fine. 4 wheel disc brakes. Tires are recaps, fine for the woods but rough on the street. I do have the title and a complete parts list with numbers for everything not original”
Has loads of patina.
“Willys m38 I bought as a package deal and don’t need another jeep project has a motor and trans/transfer case probably should all be rebuilt from sitting for so long missing windsheild tail gate and one stearing link but might have one for it soon still has all of the 24 volt electrical system calls”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $11,500.
It’s an M-38 tribute jeep.

Looks rough. Runs.
“This was/is, a deer camp_off road cool ( no license / registration _title ) trade. It has brand new tires (Dakota M/T_IT 245/75r16) and DOES RUN w/ a Ford 4 cylinder in good condition. The Brand New Carburetor needs a little adjusting. IT HAS NO BRAKES.
Great buy for Willy-Heads and is a perfect restoration project. 4 wheel drive works are functional.
We now have no room ,time or money to store and restore this ole Jeep.
Needs a good home .
Body is in good to fair shape in that….. its 60+ yrs old !”

“M38 Military Jeep 1952. Came off an Air Force base in S. D; sold to a farm next to the base; Air Force blue original paint can be seen under the orange; Jeep runs and is in fair shape; body has a rusted out area on one side under the door; otherwise body is pretty good; Arctic top has a dent on drivers side and could be pounded out; also comes with an original non arctic top; these M38 Jeeps are getting hard to find in any shape; This one has been upgraded with the M38A-1 coveted F Head engine! ”
Might not be a bad price.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
Craig spotted this one. It has some rust, but given the completeness and condition of everything else, this is definitely worth a look.
“1951 Willys Jeep, runs and drives. Looks good, it needs a few things but at 65 years old we all need a few things. I’ve seen much worse go for much more, so $5k is reasonable for condition. Has canvas top (not shown). Tires are almost new.
$5k cash
Reason for selling, it’s my Dad’s and he can no longer drive, so I’m selling for him.
Clear title.
You must come in person, no checks of any kind. No BS. If you text that fine, I’m going to tell you in my reply to call me. I’d rather talk than text, it weeds out all the scamers.”

Looks solid. You can buy the M-38 for only $8500 by itself.
“I have a older restoration. 1950 M38 done 30 years ago when nos parts were easy, with summer top, grc 9 radio set, back seat ect. Its 100 % rust free and stright with no bondo, one of the best m38 I bought then. now the bad news, I used it 30 years ago to drive into my silver mine (worked great) and then parked it in the barn, were it has sat since. So the gas is ugly, batterys are shot, tires do hold air and look great with 100 % tread. (but they are still 30 years old) brakes dont work, the seals will need replacing. I now need the storage and the jeep has to go , price is 8500.00 there is also a M100 1/4 trailer for sell. The m100 trailer is real nice, right hitch, cover, used it with my m38 jeep, the trailer has not moved in 30 years, been stored inside the barn. I need the space. The good, body, paint, hitch, fenders ect , not so good, tire shop broke 3 lung nuts, studs years ago to fix a flat so the lugs need to be replaced, the floor is a little wavy (nothing bad but it is not 100% new, I used it to haul my supply in to the mine )1800.00 or if you buy the jeep and trailer 9800.00 Please no tire kickers, I only want monny, no trades, and I dont need any help to sell the jeep. In short if you dont have the cash dont call. ”
UPDATE: Still Available. Last listed in 2013. Includes trailer this time.
(04/03/2013) Desert Dogs, a winch, an overdrive and high gearing. Looks like a good Northwest rig. It also has the bobcat fiberglass hood. The steps appear modified.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000.

“1950/51 Willys M38. Last flat fender military jeep, designated as a Willys model C (MC). Clear Texas Title This jeep is mostly complete. The engine has not been run in several years but did run whenparked. It is not frozen. The body is rusty with extensive rust in front floor boards and right
front lower cowl. The body can be restored as body panels are available. The transmission and transfer case are present and worked when parked. The engine is not original to the jeep but is the correct style 134L Willys engine.
Steering gear box has been removed and needs to be rebuilt.
The military data plate shows a serial number of MC10427, the Willys Patent Plate shows a serial number of MC10485. This would place this jeep as being between the 419th and 477th one built of approximately 63,000. I have a clear TX Title for the vehicle.
I am asking $1000 for the jeep. I can help load or can deliver within 500 miles for $1.25 a mile prepaid. ”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $5500.

“1951 Willys M38 Jeep for sale, restoration project.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
It’s a project.
“This vehicle is a great candidate for a restoration and or driver. It’s completely original and unmolested. It has been converted to 12volt and had aftermarket tires installed sometime threw its life. It was used by the Ga forestry service early on and owned by a farmer for the last 20-25 years. I have a love for jeeps and recently purchased the vehicle to restore. However I have since found a 1942 willys mb I’m interested in. I’m looking for a good home for this Jeep. Someone to bring it back to original.
