“These Jeepster Convertibles are very rare, records indicate that fewer than 3,000 were made from 1967-’69. I purchased this Jeepster in 2015, from the second owner in Grants New Mexico. He was a WWII B-17 navigator who flew over 16 bombing missions over Nazi Germany, and wrote a couple books about his experiences (Google Flak Happy, Authorhouse).
Anyways, he purchased it in 1971 in Patterson, California from a new Chevy dealer. He used it as his family car for several years, and even pulled a 16′ travel trailer for family vacations. I have several slide show slides (remember those?) of his travels with the Jeep back in the 1970’s. In 1986, he brought it to New Mexico, where it has resided ever since. Being a southwestern vehicle its entire life, there is very little rust (primarily surface rust). The Jeepster has 92,000 original miles.
