Postcard of CJ-5 at Pennsylvania Dutch Campground
What I liked about this were the groups that were being welcomed. You had the Week-n-ders, Pretzel Benders, Jersey Up & Go-ers, and others.
“UNSENT. IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. OFFERING VERY INEXPENSIVE SHIPPING RATES FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES OF ALL CARDS (Send me a message if you have questions about obtaining a discount on shipping for multiple purchases).”
1956 Disc-Jockey Dispatcher Promotion
An April 1956 article in Willys News showed two disc-jockeys using their radio show to promote the new Jeep dJ-3A Dispatcher in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Late 1940s Delivery Panel Wagon Brochure
This is a circa 1949 delivery panel wagon brochure marked PDCM1-3CM-949 that highlights the advantages of a Willys Panel Delivery Jeep. It’s a brochure that could act as a mailing brochure as well. What makes the brochure’s design a little unusual is that the first ‘fold’ is vertical, rather than horizontal, making it 17″ by 5.5″ when first unfolded.
If folded, this was the 8.5″ by 5.5″ front page:
When unfolded, this makes a 17″ x 5.5″ graphic:
If unfolded all the way, this 17″ x 11″ complete foldout:

Feb 1961 Busy Bee Equipment Brochure
This February 1961 mailing brochure marked Form No. DM61-02 highlights the advantages of a jeep. This particular brochure has some wear and a stain, so isn’t an ideal example.
If folded, this was the 8.5″ by 5.5″ front page:
The 8.5″ x 11″ interior: If unfolded all the way, this 17″ x 11″ complete foldout:
1945 Photo of Pneumatic Jeep **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Curious that the pneumatic jeeps had the tool indents on the passenger side. I believe this photo has been reproduced backward. You can see an example of how it appeared in print in the St. Petersburg Times.
“1945 Press Photo The pneumatic jeep, used as decoy during war”
In some cases jeeps were put inside dummy tanks. Here’s a great photo showing a ‘tank’ being dropped onto a jeep.
1944 Photo of Ford GP Hauling Hay on eBay
This is another of a series of Ford GP photos from Lake Geneva.
“You are bidding on an original press photo of WWII Jeep Hauling Hay Trailer Lake Geneva WI Farm. Photo measures 7 x 9 inches and is dated 1/20/1944.”
Brady’s Newest Build
Brady Leetch shared his recent build. It’s got a great flat fender / scrambler feel to it. The snow is a nice touch, too. You might remember one of Brady’s other builds, this blue low-rider jeep.
1955 Gravity Dump Modification
There were several articles that made the June 1955 issue of Willys News worth purchasing, even if the price was higher than I wanted. Case in point is the gravity dump box idea below. Perhaps someone can recreate this rare mod?
Swedish CJ-3A Jeepen Brochure
I may not be able to read this brochure from Sweden, but I like the pictures :-). I guess no one else on eBay could read it either, which is why I got it for next to nothing.

Doing the Mambo on a Hot Stove
These teens reported about a ride on a CJ-3B. Among other things they likened it to “doing the Mambo on a hot stove”. This article was published in the May 1955 issue of Willys News.
Jeep Corn Picker Brochure Manual **SOLD**
This is a rare Corn Picker brochure that was on eBay. Given the reference to the ‘Jeep’ Tractor, this would have been published around 1951 or 1952 (no mention of the CJ-3B).

1952 Photo from Korean War
Doug scanned this interesting photo. He noted that the two-star general gets leather seat covers, while the one-star does not.
Justin’s Rebuilt FC-170
Justin bought this FC last year believing he could save it. I’d say he’s done a bang up job on it!
I bought this jeep and restored it over the year. It was very rusted out but I rebuilt what was there and now it’s almost back on the road. Still need to buy a new windshield and get some tires. But it purrs like a kitten.
Maybe you can see on the rear bumper the spots I need to cut out still for my 28-31 Ford Model A tail lights and the slots to mimic the grill. I ended up going with new rugged ridge low back seats. They where pretty easy to attach the old brackets to. My rear view mirrors or for some kind of motorcycle. They look cool and the curved mirror allows good visibility. I kept the front lower part of the body off so I could build a nice flush bumper in its place with a winch hidden behind it.
My cab mounts are reinforced on the back with 1/4″ steel. And the cab mount is made from 2″ sch 40 steel pipe. The cab is raised 3″. So I could put a taller tire. I still need to mold some fender flares from fiberglass in the next couple of months pending the weather. I built this with intentions of snorkeling the engine tranny and axles air tight so I could go under water if I wanted.
This was gonna just be a trail rig. But I loved it more and more as I worked on it. It’s not by any means a great looker. It still needs a few things I can’t find like- speedo cable and front E-brake cable. And other things a cant think of off hand.
Justin took a bunch of photos to share.

Want an Original Humvee rather than a Jeep?
John spotted an article about the military’s sale of some Humvees.
WASHINGTON — What in the world is the U.S. military going to do with all of its surplus Humvees? For the first time, it will auction off as many as 4,000 of the workhorse vehicles for sale to the public, instead of scrapping them.
Even as controversy churns over the Pentagon’s transfer of military equipment to local civilian police departments, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) sent the first batch to auction through IronPlanet’s GovPlanet.com. Since bidding started at $10,000 a couple of weeks ago, pent up demand has yielded bids on nearly all of the Humvees — selling for off-road use only.

1954 Photo of Wagon on eBay
Marc was wondering if anyone knows what brand of tires are installed on this wagon.
