Steve shared this photo of a jeep bar. It’s been making the rounds of Facebook recently.
A buddy of Scott’s wanted to reuse this unrepairable tailgate for something, so Scott created this cool bench.
Thanks to Sarah Staples for giving eWillys jeep experts a nod in her newest article. We helped her identify this wagon as a 1961 Traveller. She told me that the rarity of the vehicle helped her sell the travel piece to her editor. She wrote it for “Postmedia Driving, the driving section of newspapers across Canada.”
Blaine was channel surfing over the holidays and happened upon a little known Tom Selleck movie with Jeepneys in it. He says the film shows “streets filled with Jeepneys in the Philippines”. The 1972 movie is called the Daughter’sof Satan. Boy has Tom Select come a long way!!
Here’s one example that was posted to the imcdb.org site:
Here’s some poster art from the movie

Steve spotted this unusual folder.
“Vintage Jeep Willys Kelly Manufacturing Warn Kayline hard top binder catalog. 100% original. Brochure was inside of binder but does not have holes in it. Was found in old dealership. International buyers need to process orders through the Ebay Global Shipping program.”
The center piece on this August 1959 brochure was turned into a post (I’ve run out of all my copies).
Just a single update for Christmas. Everyone have a safe and joyous Christmas!

Gary Holbrook, a long time member of the Jolly Jeepers of the PNW4WDA, shared this video. Not only does he show off his fascinating build, but he also discusses one of his club’s annual summer Back to Basics Rally in Oregon.
Today I received Bill Spear’s new book, WARBABY: The True Story of the Original Jeep. In it Bill explores the history of the first jeep, the Bantam BRC in detail. The book looks beautiful, full of text and photographs. I can’t wait to dive into it; and at 400 pages, there’s plenty to explore!
The first edition printing will be limited to 1,000 copies. The price is $60, but to me, having leafed through it today, this effort appears well worth the cost. Learn more over at Bill’s website: http://warbaby.wmspear.com
While you wait for the book, check out this one hour plus presentation by Bill Spears:
This two page article appeared in the July 1953 issue of Hot Rod Magazine. It’s mostly a photographic spread about the trek over the Anza Trail. Six hundred folks in one hundred and sixty jeeps participated in the trip.

This is a different brochure.
“This awesome little brochure was printed for Kenosha Jeep, Kenosha, Wisconsin, advertising the Jeepster and Jeepster Commando. I am not sure what year this was for, but assume 1960’s. It measures approximately 5″ x 3.5″ folded. See photos for condition.”

Oh, and one more …. In Mid July a small group of intrepid, brave, dedicated, and somewhat nutty jeepers will begin an epic trip to Alaska. Yours truly will be driving Rusty and reporting on our daily adventures. Expect a formal announcement in the next week or so.
