Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This 1968 Jeep CJ-5 was acquired by the seller in 2022 following a refurbishment completed under previous ownership that is said to have included a repaint in orange, an interior refresh, installation of a replacement wiring harness, and suspension and brake work. The truck is powered by a 225ci Dauntless V6 mated to a three-speed manual transmission linked with a dual-range transfer and a Warn overdrive unit. Additional equipment includes a BesTop brown soft top with integrated doors and plastic windows as well as a front-mounted Warn winch, Warn manually locking front hubs, 15″ steel wheels, a roll bar, and a Holley carburetor.”
Listed as a 1954, this CJ-5 is more likely 1958-1962 based on the speedo. It has a Monroe 3pt lift, along with a rear PTO and some equipment.

Since I’ve put in 4 new springs, complete new Walcks wiring harness, master cylinder, brake lines, rebuilt carb and more with all my receipts. Drives, shifts and stops as it should. Nice running Jeep. Asking $11,000.”
It runs and drives and has an overdrive. It does have some body rust.

This early CJ-5 has some passenger side floor rust, but over all this might be a good restoration candidate (apart from the price). It has a good Kelly hardtop.
