Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The body looks solid, though it has a few dents. The Selectro sticker on the dash is what caught my eye with this rig. I didn’t know that style of sticker existed.

“Classic Jeep, pre-clean air rules. Been used on ranch since 1974 so there are some dings to be sure. Odometer stopped years ago but since it was only on the ranch I doubt if there’s more than 30,000 miles total.”

Bill shared this stock CJ-5 with original paint. It’s hard to believe it’s got 75k miles.
“Selling a 1973 Jeep CJ-5, very original including paint, excellent body and frame, Jeep is from Alabama, smooth running 232 inline 6, 3-speed, 4 wheel drive, manual lock-outs, gun rack, runs and drives great, 75,440 miles, clean and clear title in my name in hand.”
Only a couple days left in this auction with no bidders. Bill shared this CJ-5 with an unusual hardtop. It also appears to have the Hudson Steering mod. The mileage is only 40,138 miles, but the co-part auction listed that as 401,389 miles. The front fenders have been extended as if the frame is a 1972 or later frame. I think the estimate $8500 value is way out of line, but there seems to be some parts value at the very least.

This jeep lived its unused-life in a heated garage. This jeep only has 1500 miles and that’s believable given the condition shown in the pics. Thanks to John for sharing this one.

“Purchased new by Rhode Island-based Scarpetti Oldsmobile for exclusive use as a snowplow, a letter from dealership owner Edward Scarpetti indicates that the odometer’s current claim of around 1,500 miles since new is to be absolutely believed.
A lifetime of storage inside a heated garage—except during snowfall—is evident in the exceptional original condition of the well-preserved paint and overall patination. Both the dealership’s hand-lettering and white-wall off-road tires are believed to be original as well, alongside the rarely preserved metal hardtop from Koenig Iron Works of Houston, Texas. The white model 520 “Jiffy Full Cab” top features removable doors and a built-in, high-powered backup light for plow duty, and presents a delightful contrast to the Jeep’s bright President Red paint.
Other than the removable hardtop and a period-correct, dash-mounted Oldsmobile badge from the late 1950s, this CJ -5 is unmodified and features its original 2.2-liter (134 ci) powertrain. CJs were roundly the most capable factory off-roaders of the 20th century, and this CJ-5 is no different with its two-speed 4×4 transfer case and locking front hubs, all backed by the original three-speed manual transmission—more than enough hardware to tackle any early CJ rally or enter sympathetic service as a ranch shuttle.”
Here’s a first-year CJ-5 with under 50,000 miles. This has the early 0-10 King Seeley speedometer. This is a tempting one…

I believe this jeep is equipped with some vintage Runck bumpers (out of North Bend, Ohio). The horizontal posts on the bumpers is the clue. The roll bar might also be Runck.

This has been available for a few weeks. It looks to have an overdrive and some early Free-Lock hubs. I could grab this for someone if they want the overdrive and other parts. I just want the hubs, but I don’t want a parts jeep sitting around. No description provided.
