Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1971 CJ5 V6, t14 and 18 transfer case. Runs drives and stops great. The guages even work. Been sitting in a garage since 1981. Just short of 34k miles on it. Lots of new parts just installed to get it back on the road.”
John shared this CJ-5. It’s listed as a 1952, but clearly is later than that. Not sure how much value is here, but it includes a plow.

“1964 Jeep CJ5A Tuxedo Park Mark IV
51,602 miles, F head 4 cyl engine runs well, 3 speed manual, Warn hubs, new brake system and much work done. Has some oil leaks and needs body work. Includes original owners manual, shop manual, sales literature, and some parts.
NC title, driven occasionally for 3 summers.
Relatively rare, 7000 built of 70,000 CJ5s built over 4 year period. Unique enough to have a dedicated parts list and shop manual.
Sold as “a new kind of sports car”.
It is a CJ5, 4 wheel drive, but with various unique features such as:
1.Chrome trim and bumpers
2. Bendix servo brakes, much larger than standard
3. Single lever transfer case
4. Column shift
5. 2/3, 1/3 split seat
6. Alternator
It is an interesting, fun vehicle, in my wife’s family since new. It deserves to be restored”

“1959 Willys CJ5 4×4 New 4 cylinder L Head engine from Texas Jeep in 2004. 1000 miles on engine, 17,000 on body. T90 transmission, 2″ Rough Country suspension lift, 31″ Mickey Thompson Baja claws on 10 1/2 x 17 Classic II wheels. Converted to generator power, brand new Interstate battery, Ramsey winch, KC Dayliters, and tow bar. I have steel hard top and doors that are included in price. Jeep runs and drives. Very capable, all steel jeep in very good condition for the year. Needs minor wiring but not much else. Will not respond to is it still available.”
For the price, this is worth a look. Note it’s got some thru rust on the drivers side.

“1956 Willys Garage kept since 1991, Buick 231 V6, power steering, Power breaks, Hydraulic clutch, Stainless roll cage, 3 speed with Warn OD. Also has Warn 8,000lb winch, Warn Lock-O-Matic hubs, Spring over conversion, 11″ Gladiator breaks, Super Swamper’s (still new) centerline rims, 5:38 gears Posi traction front & rear and more. My jeep is spotless but hasn’t been driven in while due to health reasons. Because of not being driven much the rear main started leaking causing the clutch to glaze over, they will both need to be replaced, if I do it the price will go way up.”
