For $500, this might be a good price.

UPDATE: Wss $1400. **SOLD**
(08/31/2010) It runs. The best part is the odd top.
“1961 Willy. Still runs great. Original everything! Only 11,000 original miles!!! Needs a little tender loving care but a great vehicle. Just got it registered. I used to use it around the ranch but I have no need for it anymore. Asking $1400.”
HOG spotted this nice looking CJ-5, though the rear end is a little high.
“You are bidding on a 1955 Willys CJ-5 that has been completely restored, and is in absolutely beautiful condition. Restoration was completed 2 years ago, and has been stored in a heated garage ever since, only to be driven to car shows and for a cruise around town on sunny days. Please read below for a complete description of the different parts of the Willys CJ-5 … lots more info on ebay and more pics here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42952603@N03/sets/72157625085142976/”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,500
Ed forwared this Cj-5 that looks like it just came off the showroom floor.
“9,322 MILES. Did i say 9,322 miles? Thats right, 9,322 miles. Opitional buick V 6 NOS Ramsey Winch. This Jeep is NEW! What can i say? There is NO RUST to talk about.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $200.
Here’s an unusual CJ-5 body.
“Jeep CJ-5 body, Stretched 1 foot in the door. Floor and sides armored. Willy’s tail gate. Only $200 Or Best Offer.”
The surface of this body appears good. The windshield looks good. There might be some value here.
“Hurricane 4 cyl, last ran about 9 years ago. Needs work, good project. Fiberglass hardtop goes with it. as is $600 obo. email or call 802.496.2281.”
One day a while back I got an email from a new reader named Jan. She spotted a CJ-5 sitting in a field for $500 and had a question about the VIN# and the model. We solved the VIN question and then I learned more about how Jan acquired this Jeep.
Jan wrote, “I really didn’t buy it, just offered to get it off his farm. He had a sign on it for $500.00 or best offer. All my friends are laughing at me and indicating it’s the uglist thing they ever saw…… but I fell in love with it!”
After bartering for the Jeep, Jan managed to sell the plow locally, which meant she was actually up a few hundred dollars. However, the body was so bad she knew she had to replace it, so she located a fiberglass tub for cheap in Indiana. She has also found a local mechanic that verified the frame was in good condition and the engine should restore easily. So, hopefully, next spring Jan will be driving around in a “free” jeep. Congrats Jan!
Here’s is the jeep with the top removed.
And here is the ‘new’ fiberglass body
There might be some good parts here. I’m pretty confident it isn’t a CJ-3B.
“1963 Willys Jeep CJ3B, parts vehicle, selling with bill of sale, no title. Mostly complete, been sitting for years and doesn’t currently run. $650 call Ricky at 512-789-6833.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
Brett spotted this great find. It won’t stay in 3 gear (4 speed), but it sure looks like a great price. It appears the interior has been rhino lined, the brakes have been upgraded to power brakes, and it needs a bumper.
“1963 Jeep CJ-5, 307 Chev V8 with headers. Engine runs good. 4 speed transmission that does not want to stay in 3rd gear. Engine has so much power that I don’t miss 3rd at all. Transfer case / 4 wheel drive all work. Brand new steering box. Would pass inspection except needs emergency brake handle / cable, and new windshield. Dana 44 rear, Dana 25 front. If interested please call for additional info / pictures. Thanks”
Here’s a potential parts CJ-5.
“I bought this just for the plow set up and am now re-selling the truck. No title but will give bill of sale. You can get a title for it threw a Antique mag. Engine cranks over, frame is solid, all drive train is there. Body is very rough. Comes with 3 hard doors, top is very good. Will trade for Jeep Cherokee with 4.0, Wrangler, Cj 7, 79 and older Ford 4×4 pick up. PLOW DOES NOT GO WITH IT.”
Here’s a good price on some fiberglass fenders.
“Posting for a friend. These will need a minor amount of work, nothing major. I do not know exactly what year or model these fit, but appear to be early CJ?. They are 36 1/2″ overall length from the firewall to the front tip of the fender. As you can clearly see in the pics these are molded for a rounded tapered hood and the fender tips roll down in front. So these cannot possibly fit the older flat fender jeeps. I have spent hours looking on the internet to find out more info for actual dimensions. If this ad is up they are available. Please no calls after 10pm. Leave mssg and I will get back to you asap. Scott 503-668-8771”
It looks like there is rust on the body, but it runs and has a plow. Either the alternator needs replacing or it has a wiring problem.
“For sale is a 1965 Jeep CJ5 with plow. Jeep starts right up and runs good. The generator doesn’t charge the battery but the jeep runs for a while before having to charge up the battery. Plow works good, goes up and down from inside the jeep but side to side you have to do manually. If you have any questions please call Shane at 920-277-1412”
The serial number suggests this is a ’59 rather than a ’71 or ’72 (http://www.jeeptech.com/models/cj-5.htm).
“1971 OR 72 JEEP WITH A PLOW AND TRENCHER. THE TRENCHER IS MADE BY JEEP A TRENCH GEAR HYDROLIC MODEL GW103 SERIAL #2817. THE PLOW AND TRENCHER IS IS GREAT SHAPE AND WORKS GOOD. UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800.
This is pretty banged up, but does have a warn OD. Of course there’s no way to test it, so I wouldn’t assume it’s worth $500 or more.

This might have some value. Does this have a rear PTO? I can’t tell what’s on the back of this.
“1940’s; It did run and was gone through. It has a PTO and comes with a plow. (715) 923-6767.”
I don’t see too many of those angled tops. This might be a good price.
“1953 Jeep Willys CJ5, F-Head 4-cylinder, yard driveable, white spoke wheels with Thornbird mudgrips, needs restoration, fair condition.
1963 Kaisen CJ5, good body, F-Head motor locked up. $1600. for both. Will sell separately. Call 662-457-4335”
It runs (though smokes). It plows. Looks like a good price.
“1964 CJ-5 Jeep this Jeep has been used only to plow a drive way for the last 20 years. It runs but smokes now,I think it’s the valve seals. It starts right up and runs great. The break lines are rotted out. I have a new master cylinder and rebuild kits for the wheels cylinders and some new brake hoses. I replaced the generator last year with a new GM alternator. The floors need work they were patched already. The frame seems to be in good shape I didn’t see any rot. The body has some rot and rust. The plow pump was just replaced with a newer Meyers pump which works great just needs to be wired. I have the controls and lights for the plow. This is a project I didn’t have time for. Would be a great project for someone or good for parts. I don’t have any paper work on it. I could provide a bill of sale. You can get a title from one of the online companies. The guy who had it before me owned it for 20 years. Call Tom @ 917-364-2605 Please call between 9am-10pm.The price is $750.00 CASH ONLY or let me know what you have to trade! The plow pump and lights alone are worth $600.00 and no I won’t sell the just the plow pump. I won’t ship you must have it towed home! Don’t text me I will only take phone calls.”
If this just needs the carb cleaned, then it might be a good price.
“For sale is a jeep with a hardtop, needs about $500 of work, brake lines, carb kit, rear springs and exhust. had it running a while back but needs carb kit to start better. Steve 218-261-0263”
