Tom shared this nice looking CJ-5 with the 1st year 0-10 speedometer.
No description provided. Includes a rear PTO and winch. Thanks to Andy for sharing it.
Dave’s selling this 1961 CJ-5. I did ask about the later body mounted on the chassis and he said that’s the way he bought it. If you have questions, email him a swordbearer347 @ gmail.com (remove spaces from around the @).
“For sale is my 1961 CJ5 Jeep, which I have owned for the last eleven years of its life. If you’ve ever wanted to own one of Jeep’s great CJ5 models that is in excellent mechanical condition, here’s your chance. This Jeep is perfect for trail “Jeeping,” hunting or just to drive around town (which is what I’ve done with this Jeep – I’ve had it off pavement only a few times – flawless performance.) This CJ5 will serve a new owner well and give years of enjoyment. Every system on this Jeep has been rebuilt or reconditioned, most within the past four years. The body, which is in good condition, has not been touched but everything else has.
This particular CJ5 has the Jeep Hurricane 225 cubic inch V6 under the hood; more than enough motor to provide all the power needed. It also has a PTO winch and an overdrive. The V6 engine coupled with the Warn overdrive gives this Jeep more speed than the original engine/gear setup and more than enough for almost anyone!
Here’s a list of mechanical work that has been accomplished since I’ve owned this Jeep.
• BF Goodrich K02 Tires mounted.
• Carburetor overhauled
• Complete suspension rebuild; including Rancho shocks, new leaf springs, shackles, U-bolts & bushings.
• Emergency brake completely rebuilt
• Engine tuned
• Transmission and transfer case removed & rebuilt
• New heavy duty clutch and throw out bearing installed
• New rebuilt Warn overdrive installed
• PTO winch installed/mounted
• Heater system removed/reinstalled with new parts; tested & works as designed
• New & proper clutch linkage & bell crank installed
• New oil pressure, voltage and engine temp gauges installed
• Complete brake rebuild to include new master cylinder and wheel cylinders
• New front wheel bearings and races installed
• Front steering knuckles serviced
• New brake and clutch pedals seals & springs installed
• Battery & cables replaced
• Alternator replaced
• Gear boxes serviced
There could be more, but this is what I have invoices for and what I can remember. Almost all the work has been done by a very reputable Vintage Jeep rebuild/repair/restoration shop in LaPorte, Colorado. This used vehicle is in good condition, but is sold “as is.” No warranty expressed or implied.”
Tom shared this relatively low-mile CJ-5. Looks like there is some rust on the rear passenger quarter-panel.

“Found this Jeep in a gravel floor garage. Original owner purchased with a few options. Dauntless V6, and warn overdrive! 35,000 original miles!!!! Only things done to it are basics to get engine running. Carb rebuild, new hei distributor, plugs, plug wires, oil change, and radiator flush. Nothing else has been touched!!! Will need brake work, and new top ( top has holes from mice where it was off Jeep when stored) Perfect for restore or to just get back on road! All drivetrain seams to work. Have all original paperwork, from owners manuals to ordered options sheet!! This is a once in a life time find!!!! Asking $8,000 obo”

“Offered for sale is a 1960 Willys CJ-5 with a Koenig 550 hard top. It has the EXTREMELY rare optional vertical doors in the rear. The motor is a 1970’s Chevy V8.
It needs the front end rebuilt. I parked it with the intent to restore it about a year ago. It ran great. If you bring a battery, it might start, but I can’t promise anything. Needs pressure plate.
Also included in the deal is a set of steel wheels and some really nice mud tires. The front left tire has a slow leak and will go flat after a couple days, but you can air it up to put it on your trailer. (You’ll need an air tank, my hose won’t reach.) Let me know if you have any questions I hate to sell the old girl, it’s been in the family a long time, but I’ve faced the fact I don’t have the time or money to give her the love she deserves. Price is OBO Would be a great project, it turns a lot of heads on the road. 765-two78-8two26”
Blaine shared this project. It appears to have a Sears Deluxe brand hardtop.

“What you’re looking at is a 1956 willys cj5 with a clear title, I’m selling for parts or a project. Though it is a little rough around the edges, this old jeep is very complete and stock minous the seats and my favorate part, the engine. Very early in its age, the 4 cylender was removed and it was hotroded with a Studibaker champion flat 6. It does run but needs a little work to make it drivable. The brakes need gone through, right now the pedal sits on the floor. It needs a water pump. It’s got a new fuel pump, new points&condenser, new coil, new ignition switch, new muffler. The body is in rough shape but could be repared. My plan was to preserve it the way it looks and get it back on the road but I have too many other projects. I’m asking $3500 for it but I’m open to cash offers only. No trades.”
I thought this CJ-5 had a tux park badge, but I think it’s a little too short and in the wrong place (and it is a 1962 or earlier model). It does have a ventilating windshield and a classic Colorado bumper.
