Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3B $3000 obo This Jeep is in pretty good shape and mostly original for its age. The Good: Mostly original, except for the Solex carb and screw on oil filter; these are both improvements unless you’re after a nut and bolt restoration, and it would be easy to go back to stock if you want. Steel hardtop. Starts easily and runs and drives well. Body is in good condition for the age. The Bad: Brakes are adequate but not excellent. Some rust, the worst of it is in the passenger floorboard. Wiring is sketchy at best. The Ugly: It’s a CJ-3B. Some people love them, most think they’re hideous. I like it, but I guess I’m in the minority. In any case, I have too many projects and I don’t think I’ll ever get to this one”

“Custom 64 Willy’s Jeep with a 350 V-8, Dart heads, Edelbrock Victor manifold and a just rebuilt Holly 750. It was originally professional built and a true head turner and performer! Upgraded transfer case, Fiberglass body, Front tilt hood, and RARE ORIGINAL SAFARI WINDSHIELD. Take it to the dirt or sand a true performer. This is a true off road vehicle. True miles unknown, stated mileage is an estimate, odometer was non-op when I bought it. The transmission is a 4 speed with a low 1st gear. Local mechanic believes it is a GM SM420 with a Dana Model 18 Transfer Case. Title in hand and tags are current.”
Bidding starts at $3000. The drain holes have been filled and the rear cargo area looking rebuilt.

The CJ-5 is $1600, but I don’t see a price for the CJ-2A. Seller also has a CJ-3B body and a rough CJ-5 (brown). Seller would prefer to sell altogether.

“I have a 1946 Chassis and body that is a good start to complete a CJ2A. Motor turns over but I have never tried starting it. The body is original steel and was stored in a garage for 40 plus years. Color is a greenish yellow. It has a few panels which I would replace but is in very good condition, does NOT look like Swiss cheese. Chassis has complete drive train including axles, transmission, brakes and wheels. Tires are No Good. It was stored in Syracuse area for a number of years. It has a few gussets to front frame horns and rear V brace needs replacing. I looked for over 2 years to find these items and are the best I could find. Only reason I am selling is I have temporary storage but can’t keep there long term. I have an early flat fender parts vehicle that can be part of the deal.
I also have quite a few parts for various years and am willing to sell them as one lot. Don’t ask to buy individual parts etc. I have an offer to buy everything if I don’t sell as semi complete units.
I have a 1979 CJ5 also that needs extensive body work but frame and drive train are excellent. The 79 has NY title and it runs and drives with a temporary gas tank. I did not register it. The 79 has the 4.2 six cylinder motor. 1979 has good General AT2’s all around. 1979 is $1600 or best offer. I have a number of panels from Classic Industries for the 1979 that will go with it.

It’s a project. Obviously, the seller is incorrect about the CJ-3B productions years (should state 53-69).
