Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1952 cj2 has title runs and drives. Body is on a 56 cj5 frame. 5000 takes the running one with spare parts and the old frame as well as the cj5 body with no title for parts. Currently has antique tags and is road legal but needs lots of work as none of the lights are yet hooked up. Has fresh head gasket and got head shaved. 4×4. Fun to play around with but I don’t have time and were getting a side by side. Will entertain reasonable offers.”
I don’t understand the price given this hasn’t been started in five years.

“I’m selling my 1960 CJ3B Willy’s. The vehicle is in excellent shape for the year and the odometer reads: 46,000 mi. Had a hell of a good time in Pismo 5 years ago, then it was parked and hasn’t been started since. Body is straight and true, except the hood. The hood has a crack on the surface and will need to be refinished. Otherwise, it’s a great vehicle and with a little TLC, you could have a great and collectible Willy’s.”
Marty spotted this sand jeep. I can’t tell if it is 2WD or 4WD.

“1955 Willys CJ3B, In very good condition, 4-134 F Head Motor, Arena yellow. Recently serviced which includes the following work, new rear main seal, new oil pan gasket, new timing gasket, new front crank seal, re-sealed transmission and transfer case, new rear pinion seal, new rear differential fluid, new wiper motor, new carburetor, new fuel pump, new tie rod ends, repaired emergency brake, rebuilt brake master, new transfer case yolk, new front light sockets and lights, cleaned fuel tank and re-plumbed fuel lines, new seat belts and new speedometer. Heating element is in place but not plumbed. Everything else works as it should.”

“One day in 2013, I was talking with a buddy and he asked if I was interested in a Willys Jeep and since I was thinking about a “project” car, I said yes. Well, I got this little gem on a farm in the Hood River Valley! I call it Taz Willy and he has won several trophies at car shows! But, as happens with time, I have purchased a travel trailer and will be doing more traveling so I decided to give someone else the opportunity to have fun with Taz.
Even though he was used in the orchard as a spraying machine, and stored for quite a while, he was in good shape and all the dried mud on his underside protected him from rusting! I stripped him down to his frame and painted it with frame paint to continue his protection.
The engine has been rebuilt by Portland Engine Rebuild using the original f-head engine block. It is the 4 cylinder stock engine. Engine has 925 miles – all road miles.
The transmission is the original– 3-speed with compound low. This required only replacement of fluid. I works good.

(03/06/2021) This 3B looks solid. It has some unmarked Watson style Hubs (possibly bought through Sears).
“53B Willys CJ mechanically and cosmetically restored, original engine and drive train with 12volt system, 20 year service record, stored in temperature and humidity controlled garage. Jeep is in showroom condition. Runs great and will pass inspection. Comes with spare tire and tow bar.”
