Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I am selling my 1954 Willys CJ3B. These 3Bs are getting harder to find in original untouched condition like this one. It runs, drives, and stops! Starts right up no issues. Still has original 6V system which chargers. It has the F134, T90 3 speed, and Twin stick Dana 18. Dana 25 front axle with warn hubs, Dana 44 rear axle. I have put on a new exhaust system, OEM spec front leaf springs, pivot bolts, U-bolts and shackles. New shocks all the way around. Brakes are brand new from master cylinder to wheel cylinders as well as shoes and lines.
Engine has new water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, and fuel pump. Carb has been rebuilt too. original rims come with it. Driver side floor has been fiber glassed until I could get around to welding in new floor. I have a gas tank that will work with it until OEM one is bought. Engine smokes do to worn piston rings. can easily be fixed. I will explain on the phone about engine smoking. Jeep will come with the rest of the leaf spring shackles and pivot bolts(new), spare U bolt, 3 moog u-joints, and water bypass hose. Clean title I am the 3rd owner. I have a copy of the title before me and it was October 1970.”

“1965 Parts are from a jeep I got in 1975 from a local nursery that used it for moving plants etc. around on the grounds. The jeep body was in pretty bad shape but it only had 19,000 miles on it. I put most of the under carriage parts on my 53 cj3b. Put another 15,000 miles or so on it and then it sat until now. These parts are in really good condition. I can send pictures of the ring and pinion teeth, super clean.
Set of front and rear leaf springs, stock from a 1965 cj5. excellent condition. They still have 2 of the original cast type shackles and 2 newer style. Not junk, they still have plenty of arch and are stiff. $100
1965 Dana 44 with the power lock and 4:27 gear ratio. It is apart because I was going to put in a posi and ended up using a different one. The ring and pinion have very little wear. Drum to drum $300

1953 CJ3B Some of these parts are interchangeable.

Hand made diamond plate tailgate with spare tire carrier. $100
Body tub, pretty rusty, it has been cut up. I still have the all the parts. Quarter panels have been cut off, the bed has been cut out. The cowl is in pretty decent
shape. The tool box lid is in good shape. It would be good for a rat rod maybe. $50
Original 3b frame, pretty straight, its got some cracks and its been stripped of all the mounts. Sandblasted, no rust thru. $50
Pair of fiberglass front fenders. Really nice shape, never painted, never hit, still white gel coat. $450
Windshield frame, very good condition. $275

NEW replacment rear crossmember bumper. Fits 48-64 CJ2A, 3A, 3B. Paid $130, sell for $80
Gas tank, 5 hole sending unit. Fits 46-64 CJ2a,3A,3B. No rust thru that I can see. $20

For anybody that has a 2.0 PINTO motor in a CJ.
Header, for a pinto 2.0 in a cj3b. Custom made, aluminum coated, 1/2” thick flange, never loosens. Comes with a removable plate
so it can be run uncorked. $300
2.0 pinto engine. 1972 motor. Pan has never been opened up. I do have the head off, I was going to rebuild the motor. Stock bore, crank has never been ground. The head has a crane cam, springs etc. big valves, the head doesn’t have more than 15,000 miles on it. It still ran good when I parked it. It was starting to smoke some and the body was rusting out. $500
Edelbrock Pony Ram intake manifold with 2 holley 185cfm carbs. $150
Stock Pinto intake manifold with the holley/weber carb. $25
Pinto aluminum valve cover. Needs to be painted or powder coated. Eliminates the oil leaks! $25″

It’s listed asa. M-606, but I don’t see anything to indicate it is anything other than a CJ-3B. Notice that just behind the bumper it appears there are a couple of support bars that appear non stock.

“Found myself in possession of this great little jeep when my sister passed away and have kept it in a barn since then. Living in an arid climate it has held up well. Runs good but hasn’t been started in a couple of years. The old balloon tires still hold air! “For sale or trade. 1953 Willys CJ3B in great condition. Seats were recovered 2 summers ago, amazing shape for this year jeep. Needs a cylinder head, it leaks coolant into the exhaust and smokes. No coolant in the oil. Any other questions just ask. No other issues, drives nice down the road. No bondo anywhere on this jeep, come see for yourself. Won’t be disappointed. I hate to get rid of it but need a pick up truck for work. Looking to trade for a nice standard cab Chevy long box truck in good condition 2wd or 4wd. Asking $4,500 cash. This looks to be a good price. It has a WWII engine (or at least head) and a rare JC Whitney (uncut?) 3B body.
“I have a 1946 Willys CJ2A jeep running gear with an after market fiber glass body made by JC Whitney. The serial number for this jeep is 31612 in case you want to research the model. The engine is a 4 cylinder flat head and the transmission is a manual. The engine was gone through and was honed and align bored but never started. This is a project with lots of potential. I have a good title, would like $1000 or best offer.”
