(04/11/2011) The cut of the door really changes the look of this rig. The running gear sounds good.The front springs appear reversed and put over the axle.

“Basically all original, but not running. No title.
In my opinion, the frame, transmission, transfer case and running gear are usable for someone wanting a project. Original 4-cyl motor turns over by hand. It was running and I drove it around many years ago. I completely disassembled it in preparation for a rebuild, but lost interest and moved on to other projects. I still have ALL the parts. Instruments, latches and detail pieces were stored indoors. Hood, grill, window frame and tailgate are solid with surface rust. Seat frames are in great shape.

(07/19/2010) “I have a 1951 jeep willys project that I am looking to sell or trade. the willys has a odddfire buick v6 in it that runs good, I bought a brand new rebuilt narrowtrack dana 30 front axle with a spartin locker and regeared to 5.38, I started the yjspring over on the front already but just tacked up, have the rear springs too just haven’t started on that yet, have a lot of extra parts. Have the windshield and everything just took it off so it didnt get broken when working on it. The only trades I will consider are a 250 2 stroke 03 or newerer or maybe a 450f. as far as brands im pretty open to them all rm cr yz kx or ktm or $3000.”

(11/14/2010) “I have for sale a 1950 Willys CJ-3A in close to original condition. Sold with clear Oregon Title. This vehicle was in use by the Butte County Mosquito Abatement department in California since the mid-fifties. The last entry on the maintenance record shows 70,302 in 2005 but when I got it the speedometer head was frozen so Im not sure of the exact mileage. Since I have owned it I have put an additional 1,200 miles on a new speedometer. It always gets lots of attention and questions/comments from vintage Jeep admirers. The engine was replaced at 54,970 in June of 1972 with a CJ-3A engine #3J20172. The vehicle still retains the original 6-volt electrical system. Since I have owned it I have replaced the clutch, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, clutch linkage, fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel lines, and vacuum lines. The transmission and transfer assemblies have both been rebuilt along with the carburetor. I have replaced the center tie rod end assembly and rebuilt the drag link with new parts. I have installed new upholstery for the seats and backs along with new seat pans and seat belts. The canvas top and hardware will not be included as they belong to another project I have started. There are two areas where rust needs to be addressed. 1. The passenger side hat channel. 2. At the rear of the drivers floor area behind the fuel tank. I have replaced the tailgate and hood with new ones that have the Willys stamped logos. I’ve tried to be as complete in my description of this vehicle as I can and can honestly say it is a dependable vehicle. Please feel free to call if you would like to inspect this great little rig. “For sale is a 1950 Willys Military Jeep. It is a CJV35/U which is a specialty jeep made for under water use for radio equipment. It is known as the rarest military jeep in the world with just 1000 manufactured. Only about 50 are still in existence. This is a project jeep for sure. It runs and drives but is in rough condition. This is rough. Strangely, the two connecting bars between the front and back loops of the roll cage were cut out. You can just see where they were on both loops.

“1951 Willys Jeep CJ3, powered by a 1966 Buick V6 engine. Three speed, lock out hubs. Most of it is original with exception of the engine and the seats. In decent shape but needs some TLC at this point. Hasn’t been started in a while but last time I used it it ran strong. Haven’t had time to do much with it over last two years and basically it’s just been sitting in the garage. Pretty much garage kept ’til about 3 weeks ago. Recently moved and decided to sell it ’cause storage space is now an issue. It has a title. Not looking to trade – just looking to sell. $3300 or best offer. ”
