“1950 Willy Overland Jeep CJ3A
The body is a little rough. It is a good hunting rig as is. The engine, transmission, transfer case and front end was all rebuilt about 10 years ago. This jeep has a 10 gallon aluminum gas tank in the back of the jeep. A metal plate has been welded into place where the tailgate once was. This unit is pretty rare because it has a stock high /low range gears on a 3 speed transmission, which means you actually have 6 forward and 2 reverse, not including when you put it into 4 wheel. All running gear is stock, engine is a flathead. This thing will climb just about anything. Since rebuild on running gear 10 years ago we have only put a cuople thousand miles on it. Notice the front picture behind the towbar! That is a Ramsey 12,000lb winch in excellent shape, you could hang this jeep in a tree with that winch. I installed a smaller winch cable since the jeep is so much lighter than the pickup it was intended for. The smaller winch cable allowed me to get more footage on the spool.”

“This would make a good hunting or farm jeep. It has the flathead 4 cylinder and standard transmission. The motor and trans are both good and four wheel drive works just fine. The block has been welded on but does not leak. I have a starter that I just had rebuilt that needs put back on it. It may need a carb kit to run real good but I had it running before we took the starter off. It’s kind of just an old hunting type buggy. The seats in it are good and the inside is in reasonable shape. It does need some work on the floor pans but it’s nothing that makes it not usable. I check email daily so just reply if you have interest. I can only provide a bill of sale but it has the Willy’s ID tag on it if you want to go to the trouble of registering it. I’d also entertain using it as partial trade towards a ’09 or newer Honda Rancher, Foreman, or Rincon 4X4 with reasonable hours.”

“Bought this jeep to build up but I have too many projects for this winter. Its a 1950 Military/Navy issued jeep. It has seen better days and has been layered in some spots with thin aluminum. Motor does not turn over but I have a good running motor and transmission/transfer case that is included. Also included is another complete 1949 Willys CJ3A body that can be put on or used for body parts. The Willys is very complete but needs a lot of love. Great father & son or daughter project! Eric spotted this for sale. He writes, “This is a jeep about 10 miles from me. It is nice. It is in good shape with a M38 grill and is a CJ3A. It has replaced diamond plate front floors, rear floor and upper fender wells. Hat channel on drivers side has some repair.”

“This is a 1950 CJ3A that I got for parts on a project. The tub is in poor shape. The frame looks to be in good shape with no holes or deep pitting. This was used as a farm vehicle by the previous owner. The engine has not been started in about 1-2 years. I have not had it started since I got it last year so I can not confirm the condition of the engine. The rear axle was taken out to be rebuilt. It is not currently on the Willys but It is included with the sale. I have several additional parts included with the vehicle;

1. Metal half hard top and doors that cover the front operator and passenger
2. Frame work and hardware for a soft top. ( canvas not with the kit )
3. Windshield Frame ( no glass )
4. 2- small spout gas tanks
5. 1- large spout gas tank
6. 2- Head light housings and bezels.
7. 1- Jeep valve cover
8. Padding for rear seat ( fair- poor condition)
9. 1- Oil pan with skid plate

In no way is this vehicle road worthy or turn key. Like I said before I got this for parts on a project that I can’t complete now due to injury.
