Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (11/03/2013) Sean saw this one in person. I agree that there isn’t much CJ-V35U left. He wrote, “It is in good shape overall except the fuel tank had rusted out. Not much makes it a v35/u in terms of specialized parts. The seller is selling it for the widow of friend and her kids have ridiculous expectations on the price. So right now he cant talk her down below 8k.”

It appears solid, but there have been a few alterations from stock.
“1952 Willys CJ3A. In good condition for its age. This jeep sat for a couple decades prior to my starting with it about 5 years ago. Currently runs and drives well (for a 1952). No engine/mechanical issues. Probably one of the best condition original engine jeeps of this era you will find. It is right at the spot where you could either go for a restoration or a crawler build, or do what I did and run it just as is. Currently has the rear swing out tire carrier, the roll bar (not stock on Jeeps this old) and the removable rear seat.
Its not one I have to sell, but I haven’t driven it must in the last couple years, and I would like the garage space. I may be interested in a trade for the right road motorcycle or maybe something else interesting let me know what you have. I have a current clean title in hand ready to transfer. This has some unusual features. No shortage of dash switches. I can’t tell what’s painted on the hood. The hubs appear unusual.

Nicely restored in 2004. Body off restoration, new tub, professional paint job. I have driven about 20,000 miles since the restore, all back roads and highway. I restored to show at local car shows and enjoy putting around in the Mother Lode area of Sierra’s. New tires, runs great, very reliable. There is an original Ramsey Winch with spool, a rear power take off unit to run it, also works great. Clean California registration and Title. Must see to appreciate. “this jeep has an overhead cam engine from a cj3b with around 3000 miles on it. Transmission gears, bearings and syncros, clutch, brakes, master cylinder and hubs have been gone through. Tub has been sanded then rhino lined. The only downfall is there is no top on it. Great summer vehicle or purchase the soft top online. Has been garaged for the last 30+ years. 2900 is a firm price.”

“1949 Willys CJ3a. $5500 obo. Boxed in frame. Replaced floor. Modified gas tank. Buick 231 v6 motor, t-10 transmission. Original transfer case. Dana 44 w/positraction rear end. I also have the original back seat. The only reason I’m selling this is to prevent the house from going back to the bank.
