Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (03/23/2016) Good looking jeep. I like the way the rain gutter is painted black (attached to hinge in engine compartment). Nice touch.
“I am Selling my 1950 Willys CJ3a, This is a full off frame Restoration with 130 miles on since rebuild. I have over 20,000 dollars in receipts, Newly rebuild engine , transmission, transfer case ,Axels and all new steel Willys stamped body, All nuts and bolts replaced with stainless steel. Frame has been sandblasted and powdercoated , New gauges ,gas tank, tires ,rims, glass, wiring harness , lights, new canvas on seats, new radiator everything as if from the factory with the exception of the 12 volt conversion and new high output 12volt starter. Runs excellent. 4×4 works Awesome ,high and low. rubber floor mats front and back.

It’s a project. It’s listed as a 3A, but has a 2A body and windshield. The chassis appears to be 3A.
“So, I’ve decide to sell all of my toys and projects. The last thing on my list is my 1950 Willys CJ3A. I own two businesses, go to school full time and work a part time job. I have zero time to put into any projects. The Jeep is tore completely apart and ready to be refinished and reassembled so a trailer and truck will be needed to pick it up. I have $3500 invested so far, but will entertain reasonable offers.
The good:
The body is in decent shape, I have new steel to put into it and new pre-bent floor pans
The frame is good, there are no cracks around the horns, just small amount if recent surface rust
I have the fabled clean title, in hand, and will also do a bill of sale
Motor is not seized and I have a video of me driving it before the teardown
Has the rear seat
Has a Cj2a split window windshield
The bad:
This is not a matching numbers jeep and the data tags were missing when I bought it
It’s in 1000 pieces.
Everything needs wire wheeling, sanding or sandblasting
All suspension parts were shot, rusted and unusable.

“I’m selling my 1950 Jeep Willys. It runs great! Jeep is in excellent condition. It’s a 1950 so there are things that need to be done. The emergency brake doesn’t work, has some play in the steering and the speedometer is not accurate. Other than that, it fires right up and drives very well. “1952 Willys CJ2A Jeep Project. Tons of work done but it still needs more. Engine is a Ford 170 Straight 6, has been freshened up with all new gaskets and freeze plugs, new distributer, fuel pump, carb rebuilt, plugs, wires, cap, mounts, etc. Runs great, Painted yellow just cause I had yellow paint. Frame was cleaned and painted, Body tub has a lot of time patching and patching and patching with metal, New fabricated floor boards and has been reinforced for strength underneath, very little filler, no rust left. and has been painted with an easily matched one shot paint. New master Cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses and shoes. New radiator, Chevy tilt steering column, Newer CJ roll bar, Soft top canopy from a YJ, LED tail and marker lights. Has a tow bar as well. Needs wiring finished for the lights and alternator finished. Needs Windshield glass, Needs Trans input seal, Clean Title. Spare hood, and a tote full of parts. Feel free to ask questions.”

It has not bin fired up since motor rebuild, still need fuel lines and carb work im sure. Jeep has all new brake lines, I have two extra tires that go with it. The Jeep is very close to being road worthy. Clear title in hand!”

“This is my 1949 CJ3A Willys Flat fender Jeep. I’m really sad to let it go however I have far too many toys in my shop and its time to make some room. Jeep is powered by a 4.3 Vortech V6 fuel injected motor. Fires right up and runs like a top! It has headers and side pipes and sounds awesome. Its backed by the factory T90 3 speed manual transmission and Dana 18 Transfer case. Jeep has Dana 44 Axles front and rear with 5.38 gearing and a locker in the front. Front axle has a disc brake conversion and power steering conversion as well. It really drives nice to be 67 years old! The interior was just pulled and the floor was coated with POR15 and the interior was put back in. The seats are from Beachwood Canvas and all gauges are newer and work, new gas tank and electric fuel pump, the brake master cylinder was recently rebuilt. The Jeep rides on a newer 4″ Superlift Springs that are nice and soft. The tires are BF Goodrich Mud Terrains with 67 miles on them. The wheels are from Pro Comp and are just as new. Has recessed rear taillights, newer windshield frame, heavy duty front bumper and lots more. The Jeep is really nice however it is 67 years old so don’t expect a brand new vehicle. ”

“Have a 1951 Willys for sale. It is a stick shift with 4 wheel drive low and high… Will climb a cliff in low. Has been converted to 12 volts, has new carburetor, fuel pump and new plastic fuel tank. Brake lights head lights and instrument cluster lights all work and so do the gauges and horn. May need a little work for road worthiness but great for parades and short in town drives!! Very cool comes with antique bronze fire extinguisher as well”
