Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This might have a DJ-3A Convertible body on a CJ chassis. While the dash is missing the large speedo, a gauge plate has been installed over that area of the dash. There’s no fuel inlet on the side, but Steve spotted the one in the rear (I missed it). It’s got the correct style of VIN tag to be a DJ-3A.

Very much a project. Pinto is a great engine for a jeep, but in my opinion I’d go with the 2.3 for the extra power.

Mark shared the news that the First Annual Jeep Nationals in Kentucky will be giving away a CJ-3A for the price of a $10.88 raffle ticket. You can buy tickets online through the website until November 1,2020. The drawing will be held November 8, 2020.
The ticket price of $10.88 makes for a great deal, but note that the body appears to have had some work on it.

Mileage unsure. About 10k miles since restoration.
Restored to roadworthy condition.
One issue – it has a paint problem – that will require a repaint. A base coat is not adhering correctly.
