(05/12/2012) This thing looks pretty solid, but that ‘paint job’ gives is a junk yard feel.

“I have for sale a great running 1946 Willys with the original motor and good 4 wheel drive… she starts and does not smoke, body is fair, about 1/2 of it was done by a local body man and the rest by me when he got to busy to work on it, so most of it looks good… the jeep has two newly recovered seat worth 300.00 alone… things that need to be done are the brakes as the master cylinder is froze up, and lights need to be hooked up with tail lights..also the drivers side of the windshield is cracked and should be replaced….. The buyer can have choice of the wheels on the jeep or good chrome wide wheels… this jeep may also be on ebay for sale, I usually buy old jeeps and part them out for projects but this one is to good to do that to… the whole interior has been repaired and sprayed with the bedliner spray….it holds up good and looks good…920-856-65three nine”

“This 4WD Willy’s Jeep runs and drives and has a clear Colorado title. It was purchased by the present owner in Colorado in the late 1970’s. The vehicle is located in Basalt, CO and is advertised locally for sale. The Jeep is original except for electrical 6 to 12 Volt conversion, hydraulic brakes and repainted. The original 4 cylinder engine runs and has been started annually just about every year during the 34 years it has been garaged. The Jeep was driven out of the garage a couple of months ago for taking a series of photos. While in storage, the owner drove the Jeep about once a year, mostly around town. The engine runs good and the Jeep is drivable. It is comfortable at 40 MPH although it will go 45 MPH. These speeds are typical for older Jeeps and should be anticipated by the new owner. The seals will need replacing due to the lack of use and a long period in storage. The vehicle has seen less than 100 miles of off road four (4) wheeling in the last 34 years. The Jeep has some minor surface rust in small areas that could easily be repaired. The original speedometer was replaced and shows 2114 miles since the early 1980’s. The actual mileage is unknown. Around the same time the speedometer was replaced, the cylinder head was also machined and the head gasket replaced. A new gas tank was installed in 2011 to keep the fuel filter from clogging due to aged and varnished gas in the old tank . . .”
UPDATE: Was on eBay.
(05/23/2012) This looks solid. I’d take a close look at the paint.
“Here is an 1946 Willys CJ2A. It is 4×4 and it runs and drives good. The lights work and it has a new paint job, new seats, new tires, new brakes and new glass. It does have a later model 4cyl flathead motor out of a jeepster. The jeep also has factory PTO and also a 3 pt. I have not messed with the 3 pt. on the back and don’t know alot about it. The jeep does not have a title. They certainly don’t make them like this anymore and they’re had to find with the factory PTO and 3pt. Also, let me know if you would like to see pictures of anything specific and I will try my best to get them for you.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000

Here’s a column shift chassis. I suspect it may have been a ’46 rather than a ’48.
“1948 willis J2A, This was a 3 speed column shift, With power take off to the rear. It has a Hyd. pump and front lift. Its a 3 speed 4 wheel drive with Hi and Low drive. The unit was running when the body was removed and built into a Roadster drag car,? The chassis is complete, it all turns, rolls, levers shift. I do have a new willis service manual to go with it. The guy I bought it from assured me it was running and working when His son and friends decided to build a hot rod out of the body. I have bought from Lenny before and never had a problem. This is a very rare piece. They were built to farm with after the war. Just got too many projects”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
“Recently retired and I have too many projects. I need to sell this one to help finish my other antique truck. This is an earlier 46 Willys with the 3 speed on the column. It’s all there and with a fresh battery and some gas it should start. I just replaced the stater switch and cleaned the gas tank. It will need to trailered or hauled and I can help with loading.”
This looks like a nice little jeep.
“This CJ2 is in very good condition, with very good 32X11.50 R15LT tires, a new Northern Industrial 9000 Lb. Winch which has never been used, a tow Bar is mounted on the jeep and has electrical connections, the stereo is a Sony AM/FM CD and MP3 player that works well, it has front High Back Bucket seats and a good bench seat in back. The engine is a Buick V6 and works well, the transmission is Automatic and works well. The paint job is custom, light tan desert camoflauge and there is chrome trim. The title is Clear. I sell it AS IS, but I know of no serious problems with this vehicle, the actual mileage on this vehicle is unknown. I have gotten too old to go riding in the desert anymore, but this is the perfect vehicle for those who still can. The buyer will need to come to Arizona to pick the vehicle up. It is located at my home about 60 miles north of Phoenix.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
(08/15/2012) The seller neglects to mention the lack of tool indents on the body.
“You are looking at my 1945 Willys Jeep with 3 speed on the column. Very sought after jeep as it is true to the descripition or history I have looked up on the Net as to column shift. There was only 1824 made the first year as they were made with the last of the war jeeps that came down assembly line. Now about this jeep. it was given a new body and paint, Paint color is harvest tan and if you go to color code for 1945 at kasier willys catalog it is a brown like color. it has had all wiring replaced, It is still original 6 volt but with new wires. Engine was gone through a few years back and purrs like a kitten. All numbers match as being the frame tag, inner hood tag and the dash tags. All shown in the pictures. There is no rust. Only problem area is around windshield frame as it might need fixed in a few years but does not look bad at this time. i also have the original hitch that goes to the jeep as it needs painted and bolted on. Really nice original hitch. I have had several comments on how unique it is and it turns alot of heads when it rides down the road. As many people see the old military jeeps from that year but hardly see a CJ2A civilian jeep today.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500
