Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (09/27/2012) This appears in good shape. It might be a good value.
“So here it goes. I have decided to put my beloved ’52 Willys up for sale. I have 3 little kids and I just don’t have the time needed to get it perfect. My game plan has been to replace and fix parts when I can, and it has most of the hard work done. I have not started it. I was going to get it 95% there (for cost reasons) and have it towed to a Willy’s expert to get the engine dialed in perfect since I am not a mechanic. It has the original L134 4 cyl engine, T90 transmition, Dana 18 transfer case, everything else is original 6V.
Here is a list of the new parts I have added (at quite a cost I might add!!)
-new distributor cap, points, plugs, wires
-new Oil Filter canister (that was missing on most of these Jeeps)
-new belt
-new hoses
-new gas tank
-new gas line
-new fuel sender unit
Changed all of the oil and fluids”

This has a variety of customizations. It might have a DJ-3A body.
“This Willys has an older restoration. It was done about 9 years ago. Always has been garaged. The engine and drive train operate like they should tight and smooth. The engine runs like a sewing machine very quite. The trans. operates in all gears like it should. Four wheel drive work perfect. Interior, gauges, lights, heater, wipers, etc. operate perfect. It has the rear seat, and the original hard top. The hard top was never painted. I have the soft doors and i use them for the hard top. This Willys needs nothing to enjoy. I will post a bunch more pictures, so check back. I will answer any questions you may have. Thank you and have fun.”

“Awesome antique 1947 Willy’s CJ-2A Jeep in good condition. (Civilian version of the MB military Jeep). Runs well. Mostly original parts. New seats, fuel pump, filter, plugs, battery and electric coil. Fuel system just flushed. Decent rubber though some cracks in treads. Brought up to running condition and repainted original color a few years ago by a mechanic (not a full restoration, just up to speed). Lots of fun. People love it, especially kids! Great parade or summer around town vehicle. NADA guides range from $4900-$21,000 depending on condition. This runs and drives, but has back fees.

3) The engine is from an F-head and not the original L-head. I will include an extra parts engine which is the original L-head style.
