Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Hey everyone this is a pretty neat CJ-2A Willy’s Jeep. I get into a conversation every time I drive it. I wanted to keep the Patina look but clean up the inside along with reliability with this truck. Registered as a 1949 Cj-2A Jeep Willy’s. I was able to obtain a transferable registration. There is no title but I have a transferable registration. This has been a joy to own and drive. Has a few thousand $ in new parts. (Have most of the receipts) All fluids changed within 4 months. Diff, trans, engine, coolant, transfer. Could use a new fly wheel gear/ brake work. Definitely has its quirks but overall makes it down the road. 140 therm, Newer shock’s.All new wiring around, starter, battery, lights, etc. carb adjustment, Bell crank rebuild. More and more parts to add. Comes with a bin of old and new parts. This has the Kaiser supersonic engine and head. Body is alright. Some patches on it. 3 speed. 4cyl Jeep Has been a fun summer with it.”
This was listed at an estate sale just over a week ago. The sellers thought it worth $25k, but obviously it isn’t. It does look to have a column shift and tool indents.

The seats look comfy, but the steering wheel looks pretty close to the seat. The front frame rails have an unusual slope to them.

“Great running project. I have too many cool things around and this one just don’t match my style! Runs and drives. Not perfect at all. Titled as a 1946 Willys FORGET ABOUT EMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS WITH THIS CHARM!!! Everything works on it. A few little things here and there but pretty complete for the most part. 4.3L Votec engine swap. Starts right up. NO TRADES AND VERY LITTLE NEGOTIABLE IN PERSON ONLY!!!”
Probably not much value here, but it does have some interesting mods. What is likely a Buick 215 is wedged in there pretty tight. The front springs have a unique reversal setup. The rear of the body has been patched and some unique tail lights added. The hood is secured from the top of the hood. This might have been a hotrod and a looker back in the day.

“1946 Jeep Willys CJ-2A. Runs great. All is original. Had starter rebuilt couple years ago by specialty shop (have receipt). Brand new original style tires on original metal wheels. New steering wheel (original included as well), wipers, lights (front signals not set up), mirrors. Included are new rubber shifter boots to replace cracked ones on floor of cab around levers. Also includes new oil filter. Not pictured but included is rear seat bench (not original). This was intended for use at a beach house but we have another Jeep there and this would never get used. Title in hand. Cash only.”

“I picked this up from the family who had owned it since 1957. It appears to be very original, converted to 12 volt electrical, I welded in a lot of new metal on the exterior of the tub, I replaced the floor pans and the hat channels as well, new fuel line and tank, new brake lines and wheel cylinders too. New exhaust as well, I have had it running on carb cleaner…sounds good…no smoke either…it will need tires…bring a trailer”
