Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Willys CJ2A Jeep, has a freshly rebuilt engine as well as radiator both have less than 300 miles on them. The Jeep has the original 6V system intact. I purchased this jeep last year with the plan to do a total restoration. My wife and I have since welcomed a child and I just don’t have the time for a project this large right now. I have more than 10K into this project, I’m just looking to not loss to much on it. Asking $6,500.00 or best offer. Jeep has a title and is currently street legal”

This might be a good deal.
“Willys Jeep in good shape, not ” for it’s age” but actually in drivable working condition. Matching Serial # 59169 with rare rear PTO. Canvas top and doors but they are in poor condition, Starts and runs fine, drives, burns no oil, have NYS registration. Frame very good, a rust thru spot in passenger floor board but not major. New brakes, converted to 12 volt system, new fuel pump and gas tank, tires very good but age checked. Repainted red many years ago, was Michigan Yellow originally.”

(06/07/2013) It looks nice enough, but has no bow holders or windshield wipers (among other minor issues).
“Owned by the same family since new and used around there farm for a work vehicle. It has been restored to as close to original as possible by the son of the original owner. A nut and bolt restoration was done and it shows, very driveable unit ready to be enjoyed this summer.”

“Complete frame off restoration in 2007-2008 including re-built original 4 cylinder engine, transmission and transfer case, new wiring, brakes, gauges, etc. Original Picket Gray paint, always garaged. Approximately 850 miles since rebuilt. A nice, nice Jeep.”

This looks like a parts jeep.
“I have an old jeep willys flat fender that i was going to use as my next project, but due to an injury I won’t have the time to do it. I have all the parts and it’s tore down to the frame, which is in great shape. The body is in poor shape, but could be repaired and the motor and tranny move freely. I have pics of everything if interested”

“1946 Willys Jeep, no engine. Body is in good shape with no damage and only small amount of rust. Has tow bar and roll bar added. Modified roofing that can be cut away. This is a good restoration project of good for parts”

“52 Jeep willy’s. 4cyl, 3pd manual, all original drive train. Runs very well. well maintain throughout the years. Just used for hunting trips. 4×4 in good shape. low usage (miles N/A). Just sitting waiting for new owner. New tires and spare, new brakes, new top last year, new upholstered seats front and back, Most importantly starts right up.

This has a variety of updates.
“For sale 1947 Willys jeep cj2a with a fiberglass body…. I restored this jeep 6 years ago and I has about 2000 miles since then… The original 134 flat head engine was rebuilt .040 over and hardened valve seats were installed. the frame was sandblasted/ painted and everything was gone through. It is 12 volt with an alternator, the gauges were upgraded as were the bucket seats, and it has a rear mounted stainless fuel tank. It does have turn signals and I do have the wiper motors which are not installed”
