Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has a variety of changes.
“1948 Willeys CJ2A Jeep for Sale . This is a CJ2A with a 3A winsheild , that has a rebuilt 225 “Dauntless” V6 motor , New T90 3 spd trans , a rebuilt large Scout transfer case , with a New Warn overdrive attached. The rear Dana axle has been changed out new and a “True Trak” posi track unit installed , also new at the time. The front axle has had new spider gears installed ,and the axle ratio is 5:38’s. As you can see by the picks it has (5) new BFG’s tires on white spoke rims. Bucket seats inside and the winsheild wipers are a custom setup off of a Suburau. I have owned this Jeep since the 80’s and was the one who had all the rebuild done on it . There is a driver side saddle & rear gas tanks, also some spare parts , like a pedal assembly and a new cowl rubber seal and many misc. parts to go with it . The rear seat is also a storage box.
It is in need of a top , paint , and a good home! Motor is strong , runs good and Jeep is road ready . I am asking $4000.00 OBO”

“I’m selling my 1948 Willys CJ2A in MB dress. This old girl runs and drives great through all three gears, high ands low range, 2 and 4 wheel drive. PTO winch works like a champ. Everything is there, needs nothing to drive, street legal, with CLEAR TITLE in hand. The body has rust, as with any vehicle of this age, but it is still solid.”

This is a nice looking rig.
“Must see in person to truly appreciate ( i know everyone says that but i serious), color is not as overwhelming, and truck really is sweet.
Up for auction a 1947 CJ2a show or go Jeep, this jeep has been in many local shows and has taken home loads of hardware for being so unique and in such great condition. Restoration completed about 3 years ago with only 500 miles since restoration. 95% of this jeep is new, from the engine and transmission to the rear axle spindles and bearings and gears of the rear end with all receipts to prove it, even minor components such as cowl weatherstripping and fuel tank neck grommets have been replaced…..outside of the dana 18 transfer case and front axle, and front drive shaft, pretty much everything else has been replaced with new upgraded components!!! Truck is powered by a 300hp 350 Chevy Crate engine (less than 1000 miles, edelbrock endurashine top half with dual 500cfm edelbrock thunder series carbs, RPM Air Gap Intake, MSD pro billet dizzy, Novak built sm420 tranny 4 spd with super low drive shaft breaking 1st gear, dana 18 twin stick transfer case, patriot tight tuck headers, 22×19 Aluminum racing radiator (with both mechanical and electrcial fans), Currie Axles, Currie Built Ford 9″ rear end with 4.11 gears, Saginaw High Steer Steering box, NEW 33inch tires, 3 inch lift, custom interior, custom built heavy duty rear drive shaft, Rhino lined gloss black bed; powder coated bumpers, winshield frame and roll bar. “Project Jeep needs to be put back together.Rebuilt Ford 260 v8 with aftermarket cam and 4 barrel carb. Less than 10,000 on engine.Runs great.T-90 transmission needs to be rebuilt.Transfer case works good.Has Pinto steering column and Saginaw steering box.Electrical system is 12 volt.Brakes are 11″ drums and duel master cylinder.Needs top.Have brand new electric wiper motors.Comes with extra windshield,grille,front fenders,3 tailgates and extra complete front and rear axles.”

“My 1946 CJ2A serial # 57110 was purchased new by a farmer in a neighboring town and used on the farm until the belt broke. When I bought it, the broken belt was still hanging on it. It had 12168 miles on it. It had been parked under a shed with the front end exposed to weather. The front suffered a lot of rust, but the rear half was in good shape. I rebuilt the engine because the valve guides were pushed out when I turned the engine. Number 4 cylinder was badly pitted. I had a sleeve installed. All pistons were unharmed and were reused. I installed all new bearings and seals, and it runs like a top. All brake components except linings were also replaced. I drive it a few times a year and it runs very nice at 45-50 mph.
This Willys has the agrijeep package with the governor, HD radiator, PTO, hydraulic pump ( not installed ) and Monroe lift. I also think I have a belt accessory attachment for it. There are several other items, including a rear seat, I have accumulated that I cannot remember now. It has never been wet, except when I washed it one time, since I finished it. It can use a little TLC from shop wear.
I had a custom wiring harness like the original made and added wiring for signal lights. It has the original 6 volt electrical system.
I am asking $15,000.00 for it. I got this estimate from a person who organized a Willys show 3 years ago. As I get older, I have decided to get rid of TOYS. If you are interested in a quality CJ, this is it.
