Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. 1947 CJ2A, I bought this after two owners tore it down and did a little work…literally a basket case. I want to finish it, but will be moving out of state.. I don’t have to sell it, but might for the right price and a good home. Otherwise I will just tow it when I move.
Just finished some repairs to the under side of the tub and coated it in Chassis Saver over the weekend (see photo of tub upside down and coated black..3rd phot from the end). So the price has been bumped up. May get the tub back on the frame soon and then get the inside of tub and exterior ready for Monstaliner.

“I have a 53 or so high hood that is titled as a 47 CJ2A. Many parts all very solid. Very little rust. 53 tub has a painless wiring harness, chevy tilt column, rino lined in and under all parts, full cage, toyota brake booster clutch master and pedals, and an Allstate jeep top with doors.(never been installed on this jeep) I do not want to part out. Must take all. ”

It’s a project.
“I have a complete 1946 willys I’ve owned for about a year and gathered parts to make it a desirable toy, unfortunately times are hard I need cash to finish other projects. She’s been converted to 12 volts already. Shes got a brand new soft top and doors never installed. Has aftermarket heater installed by someone else. Newer windshield frame from New jeep and electric wipers. she will come with AMC 20 rear with Detroit locker and 4.88 gears and if desired a 4.56 gear set. A Dana 30 front with 4.10 and open and all complete. Cj7 front shock towers. 2 gm bellhousings for your choice of a sm465 or sm420. Spare rims. Also will come with a warn 12000 winch with new remote and cable. Current rims are black rock crawler style on roller tires. Brakes all work currently under stock axles The bad part is the engine has low compression and rear main leaks like a son of a gun when it does run. I’m asking 4000 obo. Clean title and reg as non op currently.”

The Flat copper pearl paint is amazing. This Jeep has a small block Chevy 327. Too many custom features to list. Working original PTO driven winch. New rims and tires, all new wiring, new gauges, and much more. No top or doors. What a great summer toy. I never though I would sell it but going in a different direction. “Up for sale is a 1948 Jeep Willys. It has work done from the bottom to top. It has a dana 30 and a dana 44 posi with 4.11’s. It has a ford 302 high performance motor attached to a c4 with a stage 2 shift kit and a B&M shifter. Full roll cage with a 42″ LED bar and two racing seats with 4 point harness. It has 33×12.50 mud terrains on some flat black procomp wheels. Everything on the jeep is powder coated and was painted recently.”

“948 cj2a Willy’s jeep,. This was used for the fall small game season. The body is sold with Damond plate corners and floor. The engine was rebuilt several years ago and runs good. Transmission and transfer case are good no leaks. Gas tank is in back. Radio, 12volt, front clip rolls forward to work on, high back seats, role bar. Tires are good. (04/24/2014) Looks like this is a VEC body. Has an f-head.
“For being 68 yrs old, this is a very nice vehicle. It has matching frame and body serial numbers and numerous newer parts including:
– “F” Head 90 hp motor
– rebuilt transmission
– 12 volt conversion with remanufactured generator
– carburetor
– solenoid, coil, starter & battery
It certainly isn’t perfect, but it’s hard to expect more for the age and the price.”
Doesn’t drive, but engine starts.

Seller listed this as a 1943, but looks like a 1946 to me. The front frame rails and bumper look good. A PTO winch is in the rear. It’s pretty complete, but still a project.
