Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a 1946 Willys CJ2A for sale it is a 3 speed manual transmission, 4X4 (transfer case levers need to be re installed which I have them). It has a Flathead 4 cylinder motor, rear seat with seat belts, manual starter. I have owned it for about 2 years in hopes of making it a project vehicle but I have not had much time to work on it due to my job. It is almost complete and almost road worthy. It is currently not fully drivable but all it needs to run is a larger pulley put on the alternator as well as a wider pulley belt. I called and explained what was happening to Hammetts in Biloxi and they said it would cost around $200 for them to do it. I just don’t have the time to finish it up and would hate to see it sit any longer. I have replaced the rear main seal, flywheel ring gear, clutch pressure plate, alternator is brand new, starter bendix. It starts and runs but with the pulley and belt being smaller it squeals when you rev the engine and the alternator does not charge. I am asking $4,500 OBRO.”

“MUST SELL!! The perfect project for the right person. This is a 1946 willys jeep. 50% of the body work is done. It runs good, but the motor will eventually need to be overhauled. I have the seat frames, fuel tank, as well as several other mechanical/body parts. I just want to find it a good home with someone who has the time to put into bringing this little gem back to life. I have a TX title for it. It is titled as 46, but it’s really a 1949 model”

Runs, but needs brakes.
“Hard to find, desirable early Willys with shifter on steering column. This was the first civilian model jeep made after WW2. Serial number 27040. Stored indoors and owned by the same person for the past 40 years. Starts and runs great. Brakes not currently working. Solid, nearly complete vehicle would be great for restoration or would be perfect to use around farm with little work needed.”
The windshield is particularly interesting. I wonder how well the windshield wiper works.

-decent tires
-bathtub is rusted at corners close to the engine, only in those two places
but the rest was fixed. The bed and rest of floors are new!
-of course, with this vehicles, no VIN, and NO tags.
-windshield is very weak, needs welding to be solid

It’s a project with lots of different parts. It appears to have a PTO, too.
“For sale is this 1948 Willy’s jeep, some assembly required, battery not included, lots of good parts. quick store. this jeep was a daily driver before I hit a tree and had to take it apart and put a frame under it. This was the 11th frame I looked at, this is the best frame I’ve seen, this is a m38 military frame with no cracks, frame has been bead blasted and painted with DP100 a two part epoxy paint, I have two motors, the one that’s in it is a 3.8 liter V-6 GM motor from a 198? Chevy Monza, the other one I have is a 225 fireball V-6 from a 1964 Buick special, connected to a T-90 transmission thru a advance adapter with a rebuilt Warn overdrive.
unfortunately, almost all the parts where bead blasted and ready for paint, but where it was stored leaked water, so everything is covered is surface rust and will need blasted again.
