Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This Jeep was completely rebuilt 10 years ago with a frame off restoration. Rebuilt original 4 cyl motor and transmission, new tub, new wiring, new Firestone military NDT tires, many new or reconditioned parts. My goal was to return it to as near new condition as possible, and it’s been continuously garaged and driven just 1100 miles since the restoration. This is as close as you will get to owning a new, 1947 Willys CJ 2A and is nothing but fun to drive. I’d like to see it go to a good home.”

Not quite “unmolested”, but pretty close. It appears to be a “Lefty”. The top is interesting. Whether custom or dealer offered I couldn’t say.
“A True Survivor and Garage Find. Everything is original and unmolested. From the estate of my father, Gordon Churchwell, he purchased it new and registered until the mid 80’s. Afterwards it was used around the farm for recreational use. In addition, there are several photos showing a rare back seat, fog lamps, a mesh grill, a tow bar, original heater, the original canvas doors, spare tire, and other misc parts. The top he made from marine plywood and fiberglass coated as he spent his years in retirement restoring antique wooden boats. It can be easily removed. It isn’t currently running and will need restorative work. All items pictured is included in the sale. Pick up only and transport is responsibility of buyer..”

This was the seller’s father’s jeep and he admits he doesn’t know a lot about it. Seller seems convinced it’s a WWII jeep. It is a nice example of an early 2A jeep, though strangely it doesn’t have tool indents (#24566)

All new wiring including parking lights, brake lights, turn signals and single wire alternator. The engine runs great and it has a CJ-5 front and rear that are higher geared and 10 inch brakes. “I have a 47 Willys Jeep. It is rough and beat up. No title. Old ranchers lost it years ago. I have had it for 3 years. The ranchers had it 45 years. It has a newer overhead valve jeep engine in it. This seller’s grandfather started the Seattle Belly Panner’s Jeep Club in Washington. I don’t know the history of the club, but I’d be hard pressed to believe it was started prior to the Yakima Ridgerunners (known for being the first incorporated club in the US). That said, by the early 1970s the club was down to only three members (none of which had a CJ-2A) so this could well be a pretty early club.

Up for sale is my 1947 Willys flat fender cj2a mudder/ crawler!! I inherited this jeep from my father who passed away last year who was in the process of swapping out the axles. The front axle has been swapped out already and just needs the steering arm connected. I have the rear axle with new break parts. 302 V8, 4 speed manual transmission with twin stick transfer case. Air lockers, custom roll cage, seats, dash, Warn hub quick release steering wheel, front bumper with winch rear bumper, suspension and the list goes on and on!!! This jeep was running and driving when my father parked it to swap out the axles but sadly passed away before he could finish.
