Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This ’48 also has a roll bar & tow bar. Good solid undercarriage/floors. Two of the four hat channels do have rust (easy fix). Spare tire & rim included. Decent 31X10.5×15 tires. Original vin tag still riveted to frame. Could use better paint, brakes, & gas tank cleaned, plus tinkering.”

“49 Willys Jeep, all stock including 6 volt system and flathead engine. Engine is not in the veh. but has been recently machined and partly assembled. has many brand new stock parts, including all new wire harness(not installed) and new stock like tires(5 including spare). Also have soft top frame and doors(no material). The jeep was running in good condition until cylinder failed on engine, had it machined and started to assemble and at this time unable to continue. “Very clean, and near original 1948 Willy CJ2 , engine was rebuilt some years back and it runs sweet & quiet, very low miles/hours. only used during deer season for the majority of its life. Parked indoors and covered. Runs great – all original engine, trans is tight, original 6 volt system with new battery, no major dents or impacts, paint is nice, suspension is good and OEM, has military tires and I have 2 spares. This is a very rare find, it is NOT modified or torn up. These are tough to find in stock condition these days, could be used as is, or an excellent restoration vehicle for full on resto. (more fun to use though). NO TRADES”
