Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 CJ2A for sale in great condition. Original L-134 4 cyl engine, T-90 trans and transfer case, all new fluids, new radiator, new oil filter, new battery, 12 volt electrical system with all lights working, new seatbelts, new 15×8″ Pro Comp rims on new 235/75R15 Hankook Dynapro ATM tires, new shocks and 2″ Superlift leafsprings. I also have an older BestTop frame w/doors and some new steering and front suspension parts in the box. Runs and drives excellent, great condition and is a daily driver. This may be a 1946, based on the multiple data plates and the front Frame horns. It’s listed as a 1949.

Wiper motor works. All lights work. Top in good shape. Paint job is an amateur job (a good 10 footer). I bought this with plans to do a complete restore…but plans have changed. Could be driven the way it is. Needs a speedometer. Has a factory heater but I know nothing about its condition. All metal tub. No rust issues. Currently titled and licensed in SD. ”

“I am selling my 1947 CJ2A. This is a great jeep! Starts, runs and drives great! Tow bar for pulling behind. I replaced the starter about a year ago. Leaks a little oil. There is a small crack in the windshield frame that is easily fixable but the glass is in perfect shape. 3 speed, high and low range 4 wheel. Transmission and transfer case work great. The driver seat has been modified for a little extra leg room.

“I have a 1942 Willys flat fender jeep project. Has a good running fuel injected 302. Needs front axle put on I have the axle is a Dana 44 out of a blazer. Rear axle is also 44 Transfer case is a Dana 18 twin stick transfer case and NP 435 transmission has a little rust on the floorboard other than that the body is in good condition needs paint has a manual 4 speed transmission a lot of work already done. This jeep would make a great project wheeler crawler or whatever you want it to be. Call Scott show contact info

May need a little work (seller mentions “some problems”), but looks in reasonable shape.
“1946 Willy’s CJ2c 4×4, This is a classic vintage jeep of Willy’s fame with its 4-134 “Go Devil” flathead engine. This engine was completely overhauled several years ago but has very seldom put on the road. Still starts and idles fine, but difficult acceleration, probably due to sitting too long and moisture accumulating in tank. Has five new correct military tires with less than 20 miles on them. Body is in great shape for a 72 year old vehicle. I have done many things to it over the 30 years I have owned it in order to maintain and give it many parts it didn’t have when I got it.
Has a best top on it which is easily taken down in 5 minutes because I think it looks so much cooler without the top. Transmission still fine as well as the four wheel drive and the high and low gears. Been a long time since I have driven on the roads but start it weekly to maintain it. There will be brake work to do. I had all new brakes, master cylinder and lines put in several years ago, but think all fluid has leaked out. Easy work for the right person. This would be an excellent jeep for someone who desires a full restoration or just to get it on the road again. I have really loved this CJ but it is time for someone else to enjoy. These are Hard to find. some problems but still worth a look.”
