“Great island car. Jeep starts and runs. there is a knock in the engine that just started.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.
Body is in “great condition”?
“Rare find willys jeep cj2a flat fender WWII style civilian jeep. Body is in great condition for its age. The stories it could tell. Had a motor swap done at some point in its life and was upgraded to the higher output f4 hurricane 4 cylinder. I installed 2″ lift shackles and 33/10/15 super swamper tires. Also has roll bar and some extra lights. Right now it is not starting and needs fuel tank, battery, cap and rotor. Was running and driving just couple years ago. I’ve owned it since 2008 and hate to let it go. Need the cash for bills and car repairs”
Could be some value here.

“1948 Willys Jeep in good shape needs restoration and would make a great project. Has clear title. Was running when parked 15 years ago. $3200.00”
I get no joy in pointing out problematic ad, but this one made me shake my head more than usual. This low mileage jeep already has a gas stain running down the side. Phrases like “Fully military spec’d” and “Very authentic” make it all the worse. Finally, it’s listed as a 1945 (to the sellers credit, it is labeled an Army Jeep Tribute), when the serial number (which the builder used as the hood number also) clearly indicates it is a 1947.

“Fully and professionally restored Jeep in excellent condition! Only driven 520 miles since completed and completely turn-key. Fully military spec’d with rear seat, jerry can, Army spec paint, military tread tires, tools and more. Fold down windshield, canvass upholstery (no top), 4×4. Rebuilt engine, runs, drives, steers and stops very well with no issues of any kind. This is a super fun vehicle that is great for display, parades, shows or Jeep events. Very authentic, southern Jeep that needs nothing but a new owner. Comes with service manual and large roll of canvass material. All reasonable offers will be considered but no trades please. Come take a look and let’s deal!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.

“Here’s a nice family owned CJ 2 that has good structure mainly due to being inside a garage for a long time. The engine was pulled for a rebuild and that’s where it sat until I acquired it. The parts Jeep has had a little ruffer life passing thru many hands but appears to have a good engine in it as the previous owner was still making up grades to it. It was and still is holding antifreeze in it so I sure the motor is still good. Have a title as well…….
Christmas price drop……don’t need the money as much as could use the extra space…..and my attention could be directed else where hint hint…..not wanting to separate as I will put them together as I have time away from other distractions….
The 75th anniversary of D-Day is next June 2020 – if your not in tune with early CJ2’s.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $7500.
(09/27/2019) Not quite all original based on the one pic, but looks in good shape.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000.
Looks like a good price.
Selling my 1946 Jeep willys cj2a! Running and driving, Neat little Jeep that still wears it’s original paint!! Hardly any rust/cancer! It was a barn find that I had been looking for for years! Floors and bed have no rust holes, no cancer in body panels and frame is in great solid shape with some surface rust. This cj2a is very original and is a perfect rust free candidate for a full restoration or a little project to cruise around in! It has a Jeep f134 in it that starts and runs good! It’s cold blooded but once it’s warmed up it idled and runs good. It has a new distributor, carb, fuel pump and water pump from keiser willys! I do have the original flat head 4 motor (numbers matching) that I’ll sell as well for $250 Clutch feels good. transmission is tight! 4 wheel drive works great! Has a heater. Im into the willys more than my asking price and had plans to do a full restoration on it but after having no time and seeing it sit for a few months it’s time to go”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
It could use some body work.
“Have decided to sell my 1948 Willys CJ2a which I’ve owned for the past 6 years or so and have loved. I’ve started a Bronco project and don’t get to drive this one as much as I used to.
This Jeep looks a bit rough but runs BEAUTIFULLY including four wheel drive- would be a good candidate for a cosmetic restoration or just to drive around as-is like I’ve been doing.
Many new parts and upgrades since I’ve owned it including:
-Five new tires and tubes
-New rebuilt Carter carburetor
-New radiator
-New plugs and wires
-Complete rewiring with new wiring harness
-New gas tank
-Aftermarket turn signals for safer road use
-New brake system
-New gauges
This Jeep comes with an aftermarket Koenig metal hardtop from the 1950s- see pics. Also comes with a spare transmission/transfer case I bought as a backup but never needed.”
There may not be any value here, as the heat may have left the metal brittle.

(11/25/2019) I think the small flat bed trailer to the left of the jeep is the one included in the sale.
“1945 K2 flat Fender Jeep Willys comes with flatbed trailer has Warn winch and hubs upgraded seats power brakes Motors all original as soft top and doors good condition needs minor work”
Based on the VIN, this is a 1946 CJ-2A.
https://scranton.craigslist.org/cto/d/lake-winola-willys-overland-cj-2a-flat/7031804297.html
“1946-1949 Willys-Overland CJ-2A Flat Fender
This Willys is in decent condition for its age. It was used to plow snow and comes with the plow. Long time ownership by same family. At this point in time there is no title, but we are trying to get one. It has the original 4-cylinder engine and six-volt electrical system and we are working to get it running. It last ran in 2011. The clutch and brakes will need attention. As far as the tub goes it is restorable as is but will need at least a driver side floor.
It is a cool flat fender original Willys. A tub for this Willys will cost about $2400.00. The fenders and hood are in good condition and would not need to be replaced.
The car is part of an estate that I am helping to liquidate (do not need help). It is being sold as-is, where-is and will need to be trailered off. The VIN number is 77103. The car is located at Lake Winola outside of Scranton.”

(08/23/2019) Listed as a 1944, this has a variety of CJ-2A parts on it. The body appears to be a VEC body. Needs a closer look to sort things out.
“Titled 1944, but have been told body is 45 or 46, engine is 46. Runs and drives, not bad for overall shape. Have all new seats with cushions, new tires, starts right up. Trades possible.”
