Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Jeep Willy’s cj2a. It has a title. Runs and drives. Has a fuel injected 4.3 Chevy vortec v6 engine and turbo 350 automatic transmission. Front axle has been converted to disc brakes. Selling as is, it needs a few items such as front drive shaft. Could be a great project Jeep.”

“I have 1948 Willy’s jeep for sale or trade it’s a project but the engine turns over starts on starting fluid . Needs a new gas tank and a new battery that’s all that I know that is wrong with it . “This is a project jeep to finish has all original parts 4cyl motor runs great but has weak cylinder in back of motor it takes little to get driving up to speed but it runs good new water pump,distributor,coil,battery,carburetor,plugs,wire’s,fuel pump,3speed manual transmission shifts good,lock hubs up front,4wheel drive differential transmission good so jeep needs to be finished lights work some.the only thing you need to do is when ready to get tittle bonded in your name”

The VEC is rough, though seller indicates there is a second body. The GPW lacks a body. Price includes many parts.

Listed as a 1942 MB, it seems to actually be a CJ-2A (most likely a ’46).

“Original Tub & Parts from 1942 Willy’s Overland MB Jeep.
$2,000 obo for all of it.
All original parts. Trying to sell all at once and not part out.
Must pick up and load yourself.
– Tub: Good. Has some rusted areas and degradation in corners. Mostly sound. Still restore-able with work.
– Seats: Good. Reupholstered around 2012. Minor tears. Includes front and rear.
– Hood: Very Good. Cosmetic rust on hinges, but mechanically sound.
– Windshield: Excellent: body is great. Glass has cracks.
– Front grille: Very Good
– Fenders: Good. All 4.
– Fuel tank: Good. No leaks.
– Starter: Fair. Has new brushes, works.
– Carburetor: Fair. Can use an overhaul. Works.
– Rear tow hitch: good condition”
